Book Review: Amazing book! A must read!
Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a brilliant, fascinating and often quite comical assessment of a golden era in American music that is sadly too often overlooked as it isn't as easily codified or neatly grouped together as say punk or hardcore. Azerrad is a talented writer which is often not the case within this sub-genre. Nor is it obscenely pretentious and smug which too often tends to be the case in writing about modern music. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone, even if you're not initially turned on by the subject matter. It's truly a page-turner. I could not put it down. If I ever meet Mr. Azerrad I shall thank him thoroughly for his efforts.
