Book Review: Order 66 is amazing
Summary: 5 Stars
So I got teary eyed reading a star wars novel. Just finished it. I've put 6 years into this particular story, 4 books in total.
I've come to know the characters as friends. They have taught me in different seasons of my life; newly married, my first... child, a move, new job, and now another child. I've never had such a connection to a story before. I'm left happy yet sad due to their circumstances. Its like they are real.
Ever feel this way about a book? The republic commando series is amazing. Has something for everyone. Karen Traviss has created something really special. From love stories, to commentary on the soldiers plight. Even, in a way a bit of racism commentary comes into this book.
You are being taught without ever feeling like you are being lectured to. That is one of Karen's great strengths, but don't think she is lackluster on the soldiering bit. Being ex-military herself she really knows her stuff when it comes to the shoot em up stuff in this book.
Again, I love this book and the series it belongs to. Everyone should read it.
