Book Reviews of One Train Later: A MemoirBook Review: One of the best reads ever Summary: 5 Stars
A friend at work recommended this book. I was going on a week vacation in Mexico and needed something to read. This was by far one of the best books I have ever read. Andy Summers is like the Forest Gump of rock musicians. It is hard to believe how many lives and people he influenced. In a very humble way he describes encounters with everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Eric Clapton (whom he sold his 59 Les Paul just minutes before he recorded "Fresh Cream" with it) along with his wild drug experiences with John Belushi. Unfortunately for me, the book was so good that I finished it in 3 days. I am still working on the second book I brought.
Book Review: The engaging story of a man and his passion for the guitar Summary: 5 Stars
Andy Summers has always been my favorite police man. Even though Sting has enjoyed great fame, Andy's had an interesting solo career. So, when I found out he had written a memoir, I knew I had to read it. As I began reading it I couldn't put it down. This is the story of a man and his passion for the guitar and the journey to success with the Police.
This book is so well written that you'll always want to read one more chapter. Highly recommend it.
Book Review: loved it Summary: 5 Stars
I felt this was aproper biography including just enough of Andy's upbringings and leading up to his "fame". It really came from his voice and his wry writing style was a joy to read. Definitely has some funny stories including those Belushi get togethers which I am so glad he included. Nice work and it sure read like Any wrote it himself so I give it/him my kudos. Nice Job and I recommend it!
Book Review: Simply wonderful! Summary: 5 Stars
This was simply a beautiful read. Finally an accurate, detailed and surprising inside look at the start of The Police.
Any Summers writes with a wonderful sarcastic and imaginative tone, keeping things going at a fast pace.
His highs and lows, his encounters with rock legends, his family life, you'll get it all here, a must for any Police fan, or any fan of great music.
Book Review: A Must Read For Any Police Fan! Summary: 5 Stars
Totally entertaining from cover to cover. Packed full of great stories about the band including some never before heard stories about the making of the albums and the studio sessions. The chapter with Andy hanging out with John Belushi had me rolling with laughter!
If your a fan of the Police, you're missing out if you don't read this book!!
