Book Review: This Wonderful Book Says, "I Love You."

You are a very special, unique, one of a kind child, that's the message conveyed in this wonderful book. On the night you were born, the moon smiled with wonder that the stars peeked in to see you. There are many places throughout the book to say your child's name to personalize it, to make it their very own story. It is written in the lovely rhyming verse all children love. Not once had there been such eyes, such a nose, such silly, wiggly, wonderful toes.
In her 4-color illustrations, Ms. Tillman uses geese flying, ladybugs landing, and the moon up at morning to celebrate the birth of a child, it's her hope that even as children grow into adults, whenever they see these events they will be reminded of how valuable they are. The illustrations also contain musical notes floating in the sky, with small messages such as, "You are a miracle." Two giraffes look up at a star filled sky while the moon plays a saxophone surrounded by the words, wonderful...marvelous...you. Instill confidence and self esteem in your child by personalizing each page with their name.
A book your child will cherish for a lifetime.
Book Review: Put into words, what I was unable to

I bought this book as a 1st Christmas gift for our first child. With our daughter (& any other rugrats we are blessed with), I plan to give a book for each Christmas and birthday with the date/occasion and a little something written on the inside cover from my husband & I. This book's message put my thoughts & feelings so perfectly into words that I was struggling to convey on my own. I hope my daughter will someday read this book & our inscription & know how deeply loved she is by her family. The book has beautiful illustrations and is a fairly quick read. It's exactly the kind of book I liked being read to me as a child.
This book could be used as a gift from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.... biological or adoptive. It has a great message, in that "you are the one & only you" and explains how delighted you are that they are here and are who they are.
I bought my copy at Target, but I think it is similarly priced on amazon.com.
Book Review: "YOU ARE THE ONE AND ONLY EVER YOU"

How reassuring, empowering, and life enhancing for a child to be told that he or she is so very special that "You are the one and only ever you." This is precisely what Nancy Tillman does in her beautifully illustrated picture book for the very young. Each page and full page color painting reenforces the idea of how unique and wonderful each person is.
Ms. Tillman opens her narrative with "On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, `Life will never be the same,' Because there had never been anyone like you...ever in the world."
As we reach the closing of this heartening story we are reminded that the world has never known "a you" and it never will again.
On the Night You Were Born is a celebration of our uniqueness as well as a validation of our worth. A wonderful reminder for all!

Book Review: Ultimate Cherished Sentimental book

I adore this book! I told my mom I wanted to get my son a copy of "on the day you were born" for my son's first birthday. She ordered this book to go a long with it. It is so moving, and touching, and tells the child how special they are....it was everything I had hoped "On the Day you were born" would be.
The first time I read it to my son, he leaned up afterward to give me a kiss....something he was just learning to do, and it was so perfectly intune with the book and it's magic.... It melted my heart and created a memory to last a lifetime. This is such a truly special book that will be cherished the rest of his life and hopefully become an heirloom that he can read to his future children. I can't say enough of how wonderful this book is! I even bought a copy for my nephews for thier first birthday. Even being so young, my son understands the tone of this book....that the day he was born was a blessing and that he is undeniably loved.
Book Review: Two years later, this still brings tears to my eyes...

This book was a gift from my mother in law to my daughter shortly after she was born. The first time I read it to her, it moved me so much that I could hardly finish. The story is simple, beautiful and still brings to me tears every time that I read it to my daughter. It is rare to find in someone else's words the complete expression of how much I love her and how happy I am that she was born into our family. The story tells how special the baby was to the world and how the earth celebrated her birth.
The artwork is stunning, the words lyrical, and I can't think of a book that I enjoyed receiving more since my daughter was born. She's not old enough to enjoy it as much as she will later & we have to be careful of the paper pages so they don't rip as she helps me turn them. Regardless of that, it's a wonderful thing to read & express to your baby how special she is to you.
