Book Reviews of Oh, the Places You'll Go!Book Review: You will Succeed 98 and ¾ Percent Guaranteed! Summary: 5 Stars
Having just gotten this book as graduation present from my Mom when I graduated with my Masters Degree. It takes something like a book by Dr. Seuss to explain the ups and downs of life and the need for individual drive and perseverence. This book explains it all to you and puts it (life) in perspective. In some respects I wish I had received it sooner. Regardless of your education or age level this Graduation speech by the good Dr. Seusss will inspire you and bring a smile to your face. Filled with optimism for the future this book is nice reminder that it isn't so easy but you can (and will) make it.
Book Review: And Oh the Places You'll Go..... Summary: 5 Stars
This a terrific book for kids of all ages. It was a gift to me many years ago and I love to share with those that know me. I shared it with my best friend and today he shares it with his kids. I read it to my kids all the time and they share it with their friends. It's a great book to share and pass along.
Over the years I've read this book several times as it has meant more and more to me and the ones I've shared it with. It's all about life. If you are a kid at heart you'll love it and want to share it with your best friend too! It's not just a book for graduates, it's a book for all.
Book Review: Great for young and old alike Summary: 5 Stars
I was surprised that so many other reviews mentioned this book as a great graduation gift. I had never thought Dr. Seuss related to people other than children, but when the president of my senior class read this book as his graduation speech, it was a perfect fit. "Oh, the Places You'll Go" not only can be enjoyed by children, adults can find meaning in it as well as being entertained by it. Whether Dr. Seuss meant for the book to be so meaningful or not, it is. I loved it and bought a copy to keep for myself after hearing it at graduation. It's a great motivator and entertainer.
Book Review: Oh how much you should know Summary: 5 Stars
The 'timelessness' of Dr Seuss' books is epitomized in "Oh the places you'll go". I read it when I was 4, again at 13, again at 21 and now in my late 20s and going through a career change, I've reached for its ageless wisdom yet again. Interpret the messages how you may whatever success means for you (materialistic, social status, spiritual happiness), it is a story that reaches all ages, all values, at all levels, cultures, religions and communities. An Incredibly uplifting tale that at the same time acknowledges our reality and foibles. A book that is the essence of human being.
Book Review: I love this book and I am *not* a Seuss fan! Summary: 5 Stars
If you have other Dr. Seuss books then this one is a little different. It does not go into it's own story, instead it is written more like an introduction to the world of Dr. Seuss. It's all in there - from the Grinch of Whoville to Horton the Elephant to the Cat in the Hat. A great collection of characters all summed up in one little book. Although I can stumble over pronouncing a word just like anyone else this book is very rhythmic and fun to read, it flows very well as do most other Dr. Seuss books. It is also every bit as silly and entertaining, even for me, as an adult.
