Book Reviews of Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Book Review: Inspirational children's story for all ages.
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has a grown-up message in the form of a story that kids will love! My daughter received this book as a gift when she graduated from Kindergarten. Although the message was bigger than what she could really grasp at the time, the story is filled with emotion that kept her interested with each turn of the page. From the excitement of seeing new sights to the slumps of reality to escaping the Waiting Place to being alone and then hiking on to success! In a children's story, Dr. Seuss challenges readers in any walk of life to push on through the hard times because we all have the potential to move mountains. It is an inspirational book no matter how old (or young) you are.

"Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act."

Book Review: A must read for every child and adult!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book contains a very powerful inspirational message for children and adults alike. It contains great wisdom about the trials and tribulations of life with a powerful message of life.
It contains a warning that we all need to heed: Except when you don't. Because sometimes you won't'
Something we all have to accept and deal with. Always at the basis is a very powerful message of hope :
"Kid , you'll move mountains". Unlike "Solla Sollew" , Dr Seuss acknowledges in this book that sometimes when all the options are unattractive we need to head right out of town.
And how right he is.
And as in all of Dr Seuss' remarkable books , it is filled with the most beautiful , dreamlike illustrations.
A must read for every child and adult!

Book Review: Going and Going and Going
Summary: 5 Stars

Oh, the Places You'll Go! touched me deeply, nudging me to remember to dream, to act with joy and to live fully in a way I had almost forgotten. A perfect book for those starting out in life, it is equally, poignantly. necessary for those of us apporaching the second half of life, that time known Bibically as Jubilee. New beginnings happen every day and we need to care for these sprouts with deserved tenderness and delight. Youth may be wasted on the young, but anticipation and realized hope fit themselves into each life, expanding, stretching and liberating us to all that we can be at any age, any time. There are so many places left for each of us to go if we give ourselves the chance to believe in ourselves over and over again.

Book Review: Graduation Gift
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say, who doesn't love Dr. Seuss? My daughter is graduating high school this year...she is going on to be a teacher and in her high school years she has been involved in RIF (Reading is Fundamental) and has "taught" at a local preschool during school class hours. She loves to read to "her kids" and Dr. Seuss is always a favorite. I didn't THINK of this as a Graduation gift, but saw that someone else did and I thought it's the PERFECT gift for her. She loves Dr. Seuss and she loves to read to her kids...this book says it all to her...Oh, the Places You'll Go. I love her so much and don't know what I'll do without her, but...she will go places...she has brains in her head and feet in her shoes...HAPPY GRADUATION BABY.

Book Review: Wonderful encouraging and gently bracing stuff
Summary: 5 Stars

I find this little book quite poignant because Dr. Seuss has managed to squeeze the hard won wisdom of adulthood into an innocuous text and without being cynical or disingenuous, tells the young reader that life will be both sweet and sour. It is at heart, though, an exhortation to go out and find the world and be all that you can be. I think this is a wonderful message in a time when there is much concern and fear for the wellbeing of our children which could result in diminished opportunities and fewer adventures as we attempt to shield them. The book is well made and comes in a protective sleeve. Its quality and the removing of the sleeve impressed my daughter and gave our bedtime read a ceremonial flair.
