Book Review: Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss
Summary: 5 Stars

I was searching for a book to give as a graduation present for my daughter---a motivational type of book. After searching the large list of very serious books, full of opinions that I did not feel that they were what I was looking for, I stumbled onto this classic. I remember the story well and found it to be just what I was looking for. Serious enough for my purposes with a Dr. Seuss flair of humor. My daughter's major is psychology with a journalism minor and this was PERFECT! I had intimate family members give a personal statement or bit of advise to the graduate, but did not give it to her upon graduation from high school. Instead, (and this is the best part) I am giving it to her when I leave her at college. I will look in the rear view mirror and see her standing there with the Dr. Seuss classic in her hands. I firmly believe she will refer to it many times her first term away from home. Full of loving thoughts of past and future possibilities. Get this one, you'll not go wrong!!!

Book Review: One of My Now Favorite Books!
Summary: 5 Stars

I recieved this book from a special teacher as I graduated from high school. I had never read it, so I eagerly opened the cover to see what lied inside. I found it such an excellent and moving book about life that I thought Dr. Seuss wrote it specifically for me. The truth about life is there are always obstacles to overcome, but still "you will move mountains." His lively and comical words are just as indispensable as his wonderfully colored and creative illustrations. A truly magnificent book because it is about something we all have to go through:life. A great gift for people beginning new phases in thier life or a rewarding read just for yourself. Remember "Life is a Great Balancing Act" and you can succeed even if you fall into the Slump for awhile or visit the Waiting Place for quite some time. Soon again you will be off in your balloon and "Oh, the places you'll go!"

Book Review: Not Just For Kids
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm an unabashed Dr. Seuss fan. I read his books as a kid. I read his biography as an adult. And now, after reading his books to my kids for years, there are many I can nearly recite word for word. There are even Dr. Seuss murals on my daughter's bedroom wall.

But there is only one Seuss book in my office library, and it is Oh, the Places You'll Go!

The book is a Seussian primer on life and the best ways to succeed in it. It opens with ...

"You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose."

It is fun, thought provoking, and accurate.

Seldom will I recommend a book this short and easy to read. And seldom will I recommend one any more valuable.

It's so ...
And Kevin's trying to show.
To make your thoughts glow
Read Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Book Review: Not just for kids, this book is for everyone
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has been an inspiration for me. It teaches it's reader about the ups and downs of life, the confusion that comes with growing up, and demonstrates the ability we have to choose the best path to reach our goals. It shows us that we won't always choose the right path right away, and that sometimes, life can become a little scary. It reminds us that there will be stuggles in life, things won't always be perfect, but thats okay. It tells us that this is what life is all about. That it's okay to be a little scared sometimes. It teaches the reader, that when life gets tough, not to dwell in "the waiting place," but to face your fears, and "remember that life's a Great Balancing Act."
I buy at least five copies of this book every christmas, and I always find someone that could use it's positive message about life. All ages can relate to it, and all ages can learn from it. I know I have.

Book Review: Wonderful!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a new baby girl coming in September and a new grandson born 6 weeks ago. My son brought the baby into my room to spend some time with me and I read him this book (I bought it to read to my little girl when she arrives). My grandson absolutely loved it. He's very alert for his age and he was looking at the pictures and smiling while I read aloud to him. Every child born into this family will read and be read this book, it is wonderfully written and FUN to read to babies. When they start reading I'm sure this will be one of their first.
I also have bought Oh, Baby, the Places You'll Go! (Life Favors(TM))--it is equally wonderful and is written to be read to a baby in the womb. I grew up on Dr. Suess and my children will treasure his works just as I have and still do.
