Book Review: LOVE DAVID SHANNON!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
Many complain about the pictures but they were drawn (of course redone) by David Shannon when he was a child, thus the appeal to children. No they aren't great works of art but they are so easy for children to get! They aren't scary, just rough like all child's drawings. The stories are easy for them to get too since they were written by him when he was like 5! As a parent I appreciate the mischief maker 'repents' and asks 'forgiveness' by the end, or the mom reaches out in love after a mischief filled day and says with arms full of child "I love you" Those messages are HUGE! I can appreciate these books as a stay at home mom and 2 small children. Some days are HARD for both of us, but it sure does help us reconnect to sit down and laugh at these books because they are universal....
