This collection is the the 25 years of the best and funniest of Opus and his pals. A good book if you enjoy the Bloom County series.
Book Review: Opus, 25 Years of his Sunday Best Summary: 5 Stars
As one who cried when Opus was put to rest, I had to have this book and I have not been disappointed.
Book Review: Classic Summary: 5 Stars
This is a classic. Everyone should have Berleley Breathed books as coffee table items.
Book Review: Another Great Opus Opus Summary: 4 Stars
At his best Berkley Breathed has given us the delightful Opus--the FIRST movie star penguin--along with Bill the Cat, and other luminaries we met in the "funny papers."
If his work from "Bloom County" to "Opus" were in gibberish, we would still love Breathed's delicious art work and caricature. But his lampooning contemporary society and our constant silliness is the cherry on top.
When he turns his art in to hammer to bash his political foes, BReathed is dull, monotonous, and not funny. Even on those off days I remain a fan of his effulgent artwork. Onward, Opus!
