Book Reviews of OPUS: 25 Years of His Sunday BestBook Review: A walk down memory lane . . . Summary: 5 Stars
I was a huge fan of Bloom County back during it's first run way back when. I looked forward to turning to the comics page for my daily laugh. Opus was one of many great characters in that strip, but he stood out because he was the only penguin.
Reading these strips covering not only the original run, but also the resurrected strip, brought back a lot of good laughs and provided some new ones.
May Opus live forever.
Book Review: Sundays haven't been the same since.... Summary: 5 Stars
....Opus left us. What loveable charachters lived in Bloom County! And I miss them every day. Not only did Berkeley Breathed touch on some timely topics, but his sharp political humor is definately lacking in todays comics. This is a great collection; and it helps to fill the void since we last saw Opus, Binkley, Steve Dallas, Bill the Cat and the rest of the residents of Bloom County.
Come back, Opus...come back!
Book Review: I Love This Cartoonist Summary: 5 Stars
I have loved these cartoons since the first one I read years ago. I am so happy to see Opus appearing again recently. I loved Bloom County. I love Bill the Cat and was so happy to see him in a recent Opus cartoon. Keep up the great work. I am 73 years old and laughing keeps me young and cheerful. We need more like this.
Book Review: I love OPUS!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the better Opus collections. I love the others ones I've owned in the past and this one is the start of my new collection.
Book Review: It's still funny Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know where he gets all his ideas but he continues to be an artist who can make me laugh, even when he's making fun of my sacred cows.
