Book Reviews of Not Without My DaughterBook Review: beautiful and heart-wrenching Summary: 5 Stars
The true story of Betty Mahmoody an American woman who married an Iranian man. The two had a daughter together, and when they decided to go to Iran for a "two-week vacation" to visit family, Betty's husband decided they would not be returning to the United States. Because in Iran women and children belong to the men, Betty was unable to leave the country; her husband controlled all their money. She was unable to even have contact with her family in the US to ask for help leaving Iran. Her husband eventually agreed to let her go home, but on one condition: she leave her daughter with him. She, of course, could never leave her child behind, so she, along with the help of a sympathetic shopkeeper, planned a dangerous from Iran to save herself and her daughter.
Book Review: A.C .Not Without My Daughter Summary: 5 Stars
"Not Without My Daughter", was a triumphant story of an American women who went to Iran to save her daughter, but when getting there lost her instead. This book was a good , and informing book. I like this book because it showed a realistic story of Betty Mahmoody and her daughter Mahtobs' journey to be again in America with there family and friends. I also liked this book because it showed the good and bad things about Iran, and also how foreigners(Iranains) are so paradomic of America and its citizens. It showed the things about Iranians in therir country that noone would know about unless they went and lived in Iran. But in the end I was glad that Betty and Mahtob arrived home eventhough it took them along time to get to that point.
Book Review: Very Authentic Summary: 5 Stars
First, I'd like to point out that Betty did a marvelous job in one respect: she hadn't treated Iranias as one batch of evil people, but tried to describe them as human beings writing as a tolerant person - some good, some bad, but mostly - a unique combination of both. She also tried to portray to lifestyle in Iran - foods, customs, etc.As for the story itself - I found it fascinating, not only because of heroic Betty and Mahtob, but especially because it's such a unique story told in a very authentic way. The only objection I find to this book is the fact Betty does not seem to tolerate other women in the same position who would rather stay behind and keep whatever's left of their family, rather than take the risk of running away from a VERY bad situation.

''Not Without My Daughter'' is a motivating and true story by Betty Mahmoody that explains how a motivated women is risking her life to get her and her daughter out of Iran. This story shows how a little girl uses so much courage, strength, and faith for her mommy to get them back to America. It has very many religious qualities about Iran citizens. This story explains how a woman is inspired by her little girl to get them away from her abusive father and away from his strange family. Betty has to fight through many challenges and Iranian law to get away. She has great dangers for her and her daughter to be killed or badly hurt. This novel is very inspiring for adults fighting against their husbands' free will. I think every one should read this novel.
Book Review: Great Page Turner Summary: 5 Stars
I've just recently began to read this book. I NEVER read and "Not Without My Daughter" immediately caught my attention. I have always found it hard to get into a book, but Betty's book engulfs me and makes me feel like I am right there with her. This book is very emotional and an eye-opener. This book is not racist at all. Betty justs explains how she felt from HER point of view. She was held hostage in a foreign country with beliefs so different from her own by a husband that she once loved, but because she was treated so badly by him, she would have done anything to get herself and her child away from him. Many would have done the same in her position. I highly reccommend this book because I just can't seem to put it down. Very emotionally stirring.
