Book Reviews of Not Without My DaughterBook Review: Good Book, and accurate Summary: 5 Stars
This is book is highly accurate, I've known several people who have been to Iran and they confirm she wasn't far off in some of the things she said. I highly recommend it. The author actually goes out of her way to try and show you that it's her husband's family and other religous fundamentalists she has the most issue with, and draws attention to the many good Iranians who try to help her. My friends who have visited Iran have been to Iran who have said this book definitely could have happened, but this book does not leave you with the feeling that all Iranians are like that.
To Ezerte: stop accusing others of stereotyping and then doing it yourself (stop stereotyping Americans when you obviously know nothing about them), get your facts straight, and grow up. This book is not stereotypical and if you weren't so caught up in your own prejudice, you'd see that.
Book Review: Stunning!!! A Real Eye Opener........ Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a must for women everywhere. It shows real courage in the face of deception. Betty Mahmoody describes life, as she experienced it, within the confines of both Islam and Iran. Most women (especially American women) do not know that such treatment of women in other lands and other religions exists. Having been in a similar situation myself, although thankfully I had previously read Betty Mahmoody's book, I, at least, was somewhat knowledgeable on what the circumstances would be outside of American jurisdiction and knew enough not to leave American soil. This book takes you from a somewhat gentile life in America to that of a chatoic life experienced within Iran. Your heart will be pounding with each encounter of a new persona in Betty Mahmoody's book. The book is a definite page-turner and will haunt you long after you have finished reading it.

Book Review: CM A student at maces lane middle Cambridge Md Summary: 5 Stars
The novel "Not Without My Daughter" by Betty Mahmoody is a very inspiring book. It tells the true story of a family who goes to Iran to see the husband's family. After a period of 2 weeks when they are supposed to return to America, the husband Moody tries to force Betty and her daughter Mathob to stay in Iran for the rest of their lives. Betty is determined to get back to America and not without her daughter. Betty is given the chance to go back by herself but has to leave Mathob in Iran. She refuses to do this. One night, when Moody has to go to his job for an emergency Betty is given the chance to escape with Mathob. They take a dangerous journey through many places and encounter many people to try to get to America. They finally make it back to America from a 2 year stay in Iran. I like this book because it has alot of drama, it is intense, and I like the happy ending.
Book Review: Very Interesting Story Summary: 5 Stars
I never had the chance to read the book, but I have watched the movie like over a thousand times and I still cannot get over how women over in that part of the county get treated. I think Betty was a very brave woman to do what she did about how she escaped from Iran with her daughter. Even though Betty was finally returned home to America with her daughter, I am just curious about one thing. Did Betty's ex-husband or anybody in his family ever return to the United States to try to get their daughter back? Or if Betty and her daughter were just able to freely live in America without worrying about wheather betty's ex-husband would come back to snatch their daughter away from her or what happened? There was no update on the story after the return to America. I do plan to read the book someday.
