Book Review: No pretense of objectivity
Summary: 5 Stars
Generally books that deals with issues of importance, and qualify as good journalism, are expected to be objective. But in the recent past, such objectivity has been set aside to pursue what the author percieves as the greater good. This phenomena has presented itself on both the right and left in the last general election in the Swiftboat Veterans for Peace and Farenheit 911. This book clearly follows that basic subjective model. That being said, the factual content of the text seems to be close to bullet proof. I prefer a writing style that leads the reader to the edge of the cliff but refuses to kick him/her over the edge. This presentation is somewhat unsubtle in its use of a cattle prod to do what the factual info should be adequate to invoke. But it does provide facts that are extremely relevant to the current debate, shortens the research path for any serious observer, and crucial to be in the posession of every voter.
