Personally, I like this book. Sometimes the plotline wanders, but otherwise it was great.
Unlike the other series, Mandie acts more grown-up and mature while still retaining her adventuresome and wholesome spirit. She also has a couple new admirers. One she met on her summer trip to Ireland while another is British, and both are infatuated with her, which amused me but I hope she marries Joe. Besides the mystery of other girls at the college snubbing her, there's a boarding house that the girls are staying at that is rumored to be haunted. Could this have something to do with the missing locksmith? You'll have to read it to find out. The end is exciting and made me eagerly want to read the next book.
If you liked the Mandie books then you'll like this series. If you read the Mandie books, liked them, but thought they were a little too young for you, you'll like this series. Best of all, the books are much longer! I've been a Mandie fan for many years and am excited about this new installment in Mandie's life. Believe me, you'll enjoy it too. :)
