Book Review: A Must for Crossword Buffs!

I am on my fourth copy of this dictionary. I have worn out the other three. I have owned several other crossword dictionaries but have found The New Comprehensive A-Z Crossword Dictionary to be the only one of any value. An absolute must if you do crosswords. I recently lent a copy to my 11 year old grandson for some homework of word puzzles which he found extremely helpful. He now owns his own copy.Book Review: Crossword Dictionary

This is the second time I have purchased this dictionary. I find it very helpful in many ways, not just for crossword puzzles. I used my first issue so much that it fell apart, and I was unable to find the same dictionary in any of the book stores that I frequent. Therefore, I was very excited to find that I could purchase another copy through Amazon.com.

I can't believe someone said this didn't help--maybe they were doing puzzles in some other language? If you can only afford ONE crossword dictionary--this is the one to buy. I use three different dictionaries, but this is the one I go to first. It means it when it says "comprehensive"--it is. I certainly couldn't get through a NY Times crossword puzzle without it!Book Review: The best of the best

I own all the important crossword puzzle dictionaries, such as the N.Y.Times x-word dictionary and Random House's x-word dictionary, not to mention about 10 others. No matter how many I try, I keep coming back to this one as my #1 dictionary. I get more answers out of this one than any other. I've owned it for years and it can't be beat. Recently purchased this dictionary as a backup to other crossword dictionaries I have and find it be an excellent reference source. It is especially detailed when dealing with matters relating to foreign countries as well as with issues dealing with ancient and historical matters. I also rely on it to confirm data I am compiling for my personal use.
