Book Review: Very Helpful Introduction to NLP Summary: 5 Stars
I like this book. It's easier to follow than my first venture into NLP, which was Anthony Robbins's 'Ultimate Power.' It's not that UP is a bad book--it's very inspirational to be honest--but I think what Robbbins is giving you in UP is how NLP worked for him.
This book is structured better, offers many more exercises, and generally is a more enjoyable read (the more you reflect on your behavioral patterns, the more you understand yourself, and the more you appreciate this book). Also, it doesn't offer the absurd advice on nutrition that Robbins's book does.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks NLP might be for them.
Book Review: Great NLP users guide Summary: 5 Stars
This book is simple and user friendly for the lay person who hasn't the time or money to do NLP certification workshops. It gives you all of the classic techniques that they teach you in workshops such as the 'swish technique', running the backward movie and dissociation, and if you keep a journal and practice the exercises in each chapter, they build on one another to take you from figuring out your purpose in life to achieving peak performance.
In the back, you put all of the exercises into practice with a 21 day Unlimited Achievement Program.
It's simple. I like it. Buy a blank journal and start working on your life's mission.
Book Review: Great place to start Summary: 5 Stars
Many other books from the early pioneers of NLP are so filled with jargon and obtuse narrative, they are very difficult to use as a means of getting started in the subject of NLP. More so, they make it difficult to use NLP to get results. NLP: The New Technology of Achievement, provides an introduction to NLP which is both easy to absorb as well as effective. From the first section alone, I found myself calling friends to share the example exercises. The feedback was excellent from all.
If you're banging your head trying to get results in life, which you know should be in your grasp, I believe the teachings in this book are more than useful.
Book Review: This makes NLP practical and real Summary: 5 Stars
Wow. I have read a few other books and lots of stuff on the internet about NLP and tried some of it. This book however, made it clear and real. It gave step by step instructions as opposed to theoretical descriptions (which are as dry as sand sometimes) for the techniques. I found that of the 8 techniques that I have had time to try out, 6 of them gave nme positive results that I could feel right away. I am very impressed and thankful to the authors for making these techniques available to me (in a readable engaging and useable form).
I recommend this book IF you REALLY plan to take the time and DO the exercises; it will change your life!
