Book Review: Captured my heart

What a wonderful story this was. I love to watch skating and have not missed watching an Olympics since I was a kid. I am familiar with a lot of the skaters mentioned in this book. I thought this story was so touching and full of emotion. Katia considers her life with Sergei almost too perfect. They were so in love and their life together was indeed a fairy tale. I commend Katia for being able to pick herself and go on with her life no matter how difficult after Sergei's unexpected death in 1995. I thought the comparison between Russian and American customs was very interesting. This was an enjoyable and heartwarming read.Book Review: Enlighting, wonderful: need I say more?

I am a figure skater myself, so I could relate to all the hard work Ekaterina and Sergei went through. I think everyone will love all when Ekaterina wrote about her childhood and experiencing love with her lifelong partner. I thought that the book was so well writen that I could feel the pain she was going through when her love had died. Sergei was a great man as well as skater: which you can see in the story. Anyone who likes a nice love story or who figure skates themselves or just wants to learn more about the sport; I reccomend that you buy or borrow this novel. I loved this book tramendosly. This book was fantastic and I founk that Ekaterina did a wonderful job explaining detail by detail about this great experience she had with this man called SERGEI. The book to me demonstrated a grest deal of passion and love a couple share together.It's amazing how as if each word she was saying I could gotten a clear picture in my mind!They made Daria the center of their universe and showed a special bond as a family.This book is a must read ! This is definetely a wonderful book. It totally absorbes you. I felt as though I lived Ekaterina's life while reading MY SERGEI. It felt like Ekaterina was sitting right next to me on the sofa and telling me her life story. I could hear her voice from the pages. Everything is written so sincerely. It is truly a love story. Even though love is not the only thing Katya talks about, every word, every page, every chapter of this book is filled with feelings for Sergei. I would advise this book to everybody. I am a huge figure skating fan. I had the pleasure of meeting Ekaterina and Sergei at a fundraiser in Halifax in 1994. To watch them skate was magic, and to read their love story was to read about pure happiness. Ekaterina shares her life on these pages with the reader, and tells us of the Sergei she knew and loved. For him to pass on at such a young age, only makes the story more sad and hard to understand. Ekaterina has written a lovely tribute to her husband, and is a 5 star read for any figure skating fan, or person who wants the insight on a real life love story.
