Book Reviews of My Big Boy Potty

Book Review: Simple, entertaining, and perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this book for our son who is 2. We are starting the potty training experience but didn't want to push him into it. He loves this book and he (and I) can recite it page by page from memory. A great way to introduce the idea of the potty to your child. Clear simple language is wonderful. Pee pee and poop are words most parents are comfortable with, and there is no mention of anatomy for those who are not comfortable with terms for body parts. The illustrations are adorable. All around a great book.

Book Review: My son loves it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this book for my almost 3 year old son and it's been great! We read it everytime he has potty time and I think it has really helped him enjoy sitting on the potty. The story is cute and the language is just right for a preschooler. It's make potty training a positive/pleasant experience for all of us. I also like that the story includes washing hands afterwards, still wearing diapers at night but then going to the store to buy big boy underpants, and having accidents.

Book Review: This potty book will make your child into a big boy!
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is a great source for potty training toddlers. It will build their confidence, and will gently teach them how they are expected to act as big boys. It has easy to understand text, and visual illustrations that allow children to relate on a more personal level. With warmth and sensitivity, the authors guide young boys though the challenges and rewards of potty training--from the first steps to the joy of graduating to big boy underpants! I highly recommend this book!

Book Review: Finally!
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally, a book that got my toddler interested in using the potty! I'm not sure what it was about this book, but he read it only once or twice before he wanted me to read it to him while he sat on the potty. It has worked great in peaking his interest to potty and be like the character in the book.
Also, we tried using M&Ms as a reward every time he pottied, but then started a sticker chart (found in another book) and that has worked even better!

Book Review: Good for performance anxiety
Summary: 5 Stars

This is quite a good book in that it gets the child to identify with the character, Michael, and the steps Michael takes to become potty trained. I really like the idea that Michael isn't successful his first time and has to practice on the potty--exactly what my 2.5 year old needs! This is much better than the Ernie Goes Potty book, which is too short and simplistic. My son likes it in combination with the "Everybody Poops" book.
