Book Reviews of My Big Boy PottyBook Review: Great book for toilet training little boys Summary: 5 Stars
I bought three potty training books for my son and this is one I like the most. It has a nice specific story which doesn't dodge the fact that poo and wee are what actually go into a potty (as some of the others do), and the story outlines the training process neatly. The parents' reaction to accidents is good and can be used as an example when my own child has an accident ("Don't worry, all children have accidents sometimes. Next time you'll remember"). The illustrations are very good, and my son clearly relates to them (he's fascinated by Michael's car at the beginning of the book). Highly recommended.
Book Review: Good Book Summary: 5 Stars
I have had difficulty finding a really good, descriptive book for a boy for potty training my 2-1/2 year old. I bought this one online and hoped for the best. Turns out it is really great! Very descriptive for the whole potty training process. My son now "reads" much of the book and often flips to the pages that relate to him, for example he will flip to the page where Michael (the little boy in the book) is sitting on the potty reading his books b/c that's what we are doing. Definately recommend this book to parents working towards potty training their sons!
Book Review: A Lifesaver! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a must when potty training. My son is now officially trained, but during the course of it all, this book was worth it's weight in gold. My son really identified with the little boy Michael, and I think it really influenced him to be "A Big Boy". The book is very warm, fuzzy and is written in a kind and forgiving nature, (the mommy and daddy are very patient and kind with Michael) which is so important during this time in a child's life. The illustrations are bright and cheerful and the book is a perfect size for little hands...I love it!!!
Book Review: Potty Problems.. Get This Book!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a great example for potty training toddlers. It clearly illustrates how to show, in easy to understand language, your potty trainer, suggestions on how to use the potty. Such visual illustrations allow the child to relate in a more personal level. This book also shows children that it is o.k. to have an accident, without ridicule. Great Book. Here's a tip for those anxious parents, your child is precious and unique so do not be upset if they do not catch on right away, be patient and kind, and the will succeed with your support. Good Luck.
Book Review: We love this book Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this book for my 2 year old son, and he absolutely loves it! After reading it just a few times, he was very anxious to sit on his own big boy potty and be "just like Michael". He still loves mommy and daddy to read this to him while he is using his potty. A great child friendly book which also addresses the need to continue to wear diapers at bedtime for a while without making the child upset about it. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who is about to embark on the potty training mission!
