This was my first amigurumi book. I have made sooo many things out of this book. I had never done anything like this crochet-wise before; I had only made blankets and the such. The directions were really easy to comprehend, and the projects are a little larger than some of the amigurumi animals that I have make since then. It was significantly easier to crochet these in the round because of their larger size. Sometimes, the smaller ones require arms that you crochet in the round and there's only about 4 or 5 sc in a round, which can be tricky and frustrating for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with crocheting in the round. This book tells you how to assemble each animal, too. Sometimes, books just tell you to assemble it and you have to look at the picture to figure it out, or just sew on their arms and legs where you think they look best, but this one does a pretty good job at showing you where to attach everything. It also has little notes in the pattern to remind you to attach the eyes or stuff a certain part so you don't forget and then you have to undo everything to put the eyes in. Every project I've made has turned out extremely close to the picture, and everyone thinks they're so cute.
There are also several projects at the end of the book that aren't little animals. There are several hats and scarves that you can make. There is also a water bottle carrier that I made that turned out really cute. So if you are looking for a book that is strictly amigurumi animals, keep this in mind.
Overall, this is a great book with lots of really cute projects.
