Book Review: More than a book about money...

I am a Dave Ramsey super-fan. (In fact, I think he should organize a Debt Free 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon in Nashville for those of his fans who reach these major milestones in their debt snowball or emergency fund growth. But I'll wait until I move to Murfreesboro to pitch that idea to him.)
One of the highlights of this year was when my wife and I met him at a talk he gave at the Cerritos Center in Los Angeles. We asked if we could do our debt free scream with him live. We did. I can't remember the last time I screamed so loud out of sheer joy and excitement. So here I am, debt free, and I still listen to his podcast, subscribe to his newsletters, and now I am reading another of his books, More Than Enough (the other two that I've read and highly recommend are Financial Peace Revisited and Total Money Makeover).
The subtitle of More Than Enough is "The 10 Keys to Changing Your Financial Destiny," and it is, largely, a book about the financial principles Dave recommends. But I think it is much, much more. Ask yourself why Dave is so influential, heard on so many radio stations, so widely read, featured on Fox News, sold-out at live events around the country and in Cancun and the Bahamas? I would suggest that it is the underlying principles of his leadership that have contributed to his great success. In fact, I think it takes leadership to change your financial destiny.
Dave is an amazing leader. He leads a team of several hundred, the Lampo Group, at Financial Peace Plaza in Brentwood, TN. He also presents his leadership ideas in highly successful EntreLeadership seminars around the country and twice yearly in exotic locations like the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. The ideas are fundamental and elementary, like ATOMs (just as Lift = Drag is an elementary relationship in the complicated field of aeronautics).
Dave is blunt. "Bluntness" is an underused quality in leadership, but there are definitely times when it is necessary. He uses words like accountability and work and values. And he talks about money. His blunt ideas can transform how you think about money, and they will help you lead your family (or your organization) instead of letting money and things enslaving you.
Who should read it? Anyone who spends money. Anyone who talks about money with a significant other, like a spouse. Anyone who wants to make more money.
What is it about? Core principles of leadership in the area of personal finance, because personal finance is more about "personal" (about behavior modification) than "finance."
When? If you are in debt, read it NOW. If you have a credit card, read it very soon. If you are out of debt and want to sharpen your leadership, add it to your reading list as well.
