Book Reviews of More Than Friends (Circle of Friends Series #4)Book Review: Grand finale for a grand teen series Summary: 5 Stars
This is the fourth, and final book in this Circle of Friends series. What I really like about this book is that there are discussion questions in the back of the book--which opens the door to discussing pertinent issues in a Christian teen's life. For example, "Nicole's parents refuse to allow her to date someone who is not a Christian. Do you think that this is fair?" Parents, youth group leaders, may want to read these books along with their teen(s,) so they can talk about these issues that come up in the relationships in the book. In this way teens can safely apply the questions and consequences in their own relationships. Buy the whole series for a teen in your life.
Summary of More Than Friends (Circle of Friends Series #4)More Than Friends is the fourth and last book in a remarkable coming-of-age series that will appeal to teenagers. The reader sees through the eyes of high school senior Glen Sauten as, like King David before him, he learns what it means to be a person after God's own heart. Glen does his best to help his best friend cope with life as a paraplegic; encourages the nuisance, Marta, to deal with the trauma in her past; struggles to maintain a viable relationship with his former friend, Charlie; takes the next steps in his friendship with Nicole; and tries to help his family understand his new-found faith. As he leans on God and his cell group for help, he finds himself taking a bold stand in defense of his beliefs. He also discovers, to his surprise, that he knows what he wants to do in the future. Inspired by John 15:13 - "The greatest love a person can show is to die for his friends." Discussion questions for all four books are included in the back of More Than Friends. Earlier titles are Best of Friends, Friends Like These, and Friends in Need.
