Book Review: Good even if it is an obvious case of stealing someone elses storyline
Summary: 3 Stars
I'm a HUGE fan of LKH and Anne Bishop. So, when I saw on the cover the name of one of my favorite authors I figured I'd give it a try. It is true that I read the entire book in one day, which suggests that it is a good read. But, I couldn't help but feel like it was a complete rip off of Anne Bishops blood jewel trilogy (AMAZING series), and a mix of LKH Anita Blake and Meridith Gentry series. I could pick out phrases and key words that LKH uses regularily in her books. There was even complete scenes and backgroud ideas directly from her books as well.
And, lets not forget about the whole ruler of hell/ Girl that found her way in hell when no one else has... aspect ... COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!
With that said .... 2 of my favorite authors who do an exceptional job of writing mashed together makes an interesting read. Yet, Sunny does not have the litterary flare that the original authors do.
It is a good read when your favorite authors are between novels.
BUT....
I highly suggest reading the following first:
Laurell K. Hamilton .. even after the smut
Anne Bishop
Kim Harrison
Stephenie Meyer
J R Ward... The first three books are pretty good
and a little series that I recently discovered called
