Book Reviews of MommywoodBook Review: Great book, had me laughing out loud in the office! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a newer fan of Tori's. I was younger when 90210 was at it's peak, so I fell in love with her after I stumbled on Tori and Dean: Inn Love. (I just happened to stumble onto an Oxygen Marathon and didn't get out of the lazy boy recliner all day... but I digress).
Her writing is like having a conversation with a girl friend, she is very open, honest and candid about her life and her world. She completely shatters the "celebrity" image and is just Tori. You get an insight into her life and have fun hearing all the stories that make her life "normal" (her words, not mine)I loved the book, Love Tori (and Dean and Liam and Stella...) great quick weekend read and will make you laugh out loud. I had to keep myself contained when I read that Liam sat on Stella's head, because I started laughing so loud I'm sure I was getting some weird looks from my co-workers.
Bottom Line: If you like Tori or quirky celebrity stories, it's a "must read".
Book Review: Needed a better editor... Summary: 5 Stars
Oops- mean to give it only a couple of stars.
I thought "sTORI Telling" was an enjoyable, guilty pleasure. This book however seemed like a long, rambling list of complaints and info that I did not need to know (that Tori and Dean watch porn together, had sex while their son was in their room watching cartoons- no thank you) and insult after insult toward her mother Candy. The gloves are off now- no subtle digs about her relationship with her mother, just lots of insults and complaints! Tori goes on and on about being a working mom to support her family, but will throw out gems like 'we tried to go out and take a walk and eat out at least one meal a day." I mean yes, I get that her reality is no where close to mine, but please. It's like reading about her fumble around trying to make her experiences with motherhood sound interesting for "her public."
Book Review: Tori Spelling does it again Summary: 5 Stars
Mommywood is the second book by Tori Spelling that I have read and I've enjoyed this one just as much. I was never a Tori Spelling fan until I just randomly picked up her first book. I find it amazing to read about Hollywood and life that most people seems only to dream about. I like Ms. Spelling's honesty and how she seems so down to earth although her name is almost a household name. I'm not a reader of actresses, fame, etc., but Mommywood is a good read for anyone who wants to know what's it like to be Tori Spelling.
I often wonder if Tori reads this reviews and perhaps in an upcoming book she'll mention reader's reviews. I am from Canada so I am happy she likes Canada.
Book Review: Couldn't put it down....... Summary: 5 Stars
I have always liked Tori Spelling on television but just decided to purchase all 3 of her books....I was not disappointed. It was like I was experiencing what she was feeling and I was transported to that time and place. She is a great story teller and through her books, you see that she is just a normal person with a little "above normal" circumstances. She puts things very direct and doesn't hide anything. I like her even more now that I have read her books. Big reader....not me BUT I couldn't put this down. I have just started her 3rd book and every free minute that I get, I am picking it up. Great job and I hope she writes more!!!
Book Review: Haters are gonna hate, but fans will love this. Summary: 5 Stars
Say what you want about Tori Spelling, but she is who she is, and I love her for it.
I enjoyed Stori Telling very much, and was very pleased with this book as well. Celebrity memoirs are somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me, and Tori's books are very high on my list of favorites. Tori has really grown into a level-headed woman; and with Dean, Liam, and Stella has a functional and loving family, which she absolutely deserves.
If you don't like Tori, you probably won't like this book. If you love her, you'll love it. Plain and simple. Haters are gonna hate, but Tori has learned not to let them get to her.
