Book Review: Best sketchbook ever

I am a professional artist and always have a sketchbook with me wherever I go. The moleskin watercolor sketchbook is the best I have found in 20 odd years of on the spot painting. Perfect size, the paper takes a good deal of abuse, lays flat, allows easy pick-up techniques, layers and layers of washes and loves saturated color areas. There is no bleed through so each and every page can be used. I only wish I had discovered it sooner!Book Review: the best

I am a mixed media artist and this little moleskine has held up to quite a bit. I use acrylic paint, watercolor, water soluble oil pastels, super heavy gesso, do impasto work, and I have even sewn fabric through the pages. I didn't carefully review the measurments before ordering so I was a little surprised at how small it was; however it is simply wonderful. I purchased this book as part of a retirement gift for a teacher friend who is a fabulous watercolor artist. She travels often with her artist husband, and I thought this would be perfect for her. I researched this product, viewed artwork from others online, compared prices, and couldn't have been more pleased with the purchase from this site. This notebook is the perfect size and the paper is great for quick sketches on the go. I stash it in my purse along with a waterproof uniball .5 mm pen and whenever I have a moment I sketch and then add the watercolor later. I love my moleskine sketchbook. The paper is wonderful for watercolor sketches. The size is just perfect I plan to take it with me on vacation this summer and it will be easy to pack with my pencils and paints. Really like the pocket in the back it will spoil me for ever using any other kind of sketchbook. I will be ordering more Moleskine books from Amazon.
