Book Review: Now remember it's there to write in, not just hold in your hands

I recently adopted this as my primary "carrying-around with me all day" notebook and it's pretty great. The materials and construction seem to be of high quality. Like most (all?) of Moleskine's notebooks it has a number of cute-but-also-indispensable features: an elastic strap to keep it closed; a ribbon page marker that your cats will chew up if you're not careful; and a back pocket where you can put the phone numbers of other interesting, creative, attractive people that you happen to meet.
Much of the appeal of Moleskine's notebooks, aside from their straightforward "use value" as places to write things down, is the powerful aesthetic pleasure that they provide. The Soft Cover Pocket model happens to be an especially attractive object - it seems to exude a sense of possibility and purpose as it nestles in your hand or pocket, or as it sits on your bedside table. It waits quietly for you to pick it up, slip off the strap, and little by little fill its pages. It is understandable that the more intangible qualities of Moleskine notebooks (which, let's be honest, probably reflect the company's carefully constructed brand as much as anything else) can sometimes make them seem like fetish objects for the self-absorbed bourgeoisie. But if any mass-produced consumer item could have a soul, this notebook would be it.
UPDATE: After about 6 months of use, the imitation leather has started to get "bubbles", presumably where the glue is no longer holding the flexible cover. While this is basically a cosmetic issue, it does bother me because it smacks of careless design/workmanship. So two things:
1) Has this happened to anyone else's notebook?
2) Does anybody know of a way to fix it?
