Book Reviews of Miss Spider's Tea PartyBook Review: Fantastic Kids' Book! Summary: 5 Stars
My young toddler has a library of books, and this has remained her favorite since I first started reading to her. The pictures are bright and eye-catching, and many of the bugs' bodies are comprised of spheres, which is a plus to kids who love balls. My daughter points and says "ball, ball!" throughout the book.
The story is wonderful on so many levels. Everything rhymes, which really holds a child's interest, expecially because it's easy to read aloud with enthusiasm in rhyme. There's a numbering scheme (one spider, two beetles, three fireflies, etc.) to teach counting to kids. There's also a nice moral to the story, as in most of the "Little Miss Spider" and "Miss Spider" books. As the adult reading to a child, I never tire of the rhyme and the heartwarming story. I just wish the author would make another book in the same rhyming scheme as this; it's exceptional! Ten stars out of a possible five!
Book Review: Tea for All Summary: 5 Stars
Miss Spider's Tea Party is a look at one lonely spider who wants nothing more then to enjoy a tea party with others. She tries various other critters that come near her from moths to ants to fireflies, but no one will give her a chance. Everyone is afraid of the spider will eat them at the tea party. Soon Miss Spider finds a moth who is wet and can not fly. She helps to dry his wings, gives him some tea and a snack before allowing him to return to his home. Word soon gets out that Miss Spider has the best tea parties and a wonderful hostess at that.
I thought the story was great fun for all young readers. The beautifully colored illustrations help the book to come to life. Share the story with your little one!

Book Review: Beautiful illustrations, concept and message! Summary: 5 Stars
This cleverly written concept (counting and poetry) book combined with the most beautiful illustrations makes this a must have for any home library. Before they can even read, children will enjoy have this story read to them while they look at the vivid pictures and try to count all the bugs to match the story. Opportunities to increase vocabulary are bountiful with the creative and broad use of vocabulary within the rhyming plot. The ending shows a great character building lesson to get to know someone before making a judgement. Just perfect!
Book Review: A Grandson's Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
This book is bright and colorful and full of lessons both mathematical and moral. It's a lesson to not judge a book by it's cover (pardon the pun). Miss Spider is a very lonely spider and all the bugs she invites to tea are afraid of her, until one drenched moth partakes of her kindness.
My four-year-old grandson loves this book and we read it to him before bed and again in the morning. He now counts the butterflies and moths and number of tea cups. A very sweet and special children's book.
Book Review: great book Summary: 5 Stars
Our 2 year old daughter loves books and she really loves this book. She asks for it all the time. I can't count the number of times I have read it. To keep myself engaged I have to read it using different voices/accents. Tonight I read it using kind of a country/western twang. She loved that and spontaneously said "I love you Daddy". The story is good and the drawings are pleasing.
