Book Reviews of Miracle: A Celebration of New LifeBook Review: Whether you like Celine Dion or not, Geddes photos are magic Summary: 5 Stars
I am a highly educated, self-employed, housewife by choice-and "plain-white's" review would be very offensive, if it weren't so typical of the under-educated, ill-mannered, mental lightweights of today. No, I did not spend my "husband's hard-earned money" on this book, but I spent a lovely half-hour over coffee at my local bookstore perusing it, and as usual, Anne reminds us of the beauty that surrounds the beginning of our lives when it is treated with the proper reverence. This is the main reason I put my own career on hold when I was blessed with a child. Unlike the lackwit that gave this product 1 star, I give it 5 for the photos alone. And when I decide to purchase it, it will be with my own "hard-earned money," since I am one of many "housewives" that are also hard-working, innovative entrepreneurs.
Book Review: A beautiful rendition of the miracle of life Summary: 5 Stars
Geddes has put together a beautiful collection of photographs accompanied by the music of Celine Dion. The creativity used in photographing these angelic faces of the babies in various different computer generated poses are often captivating, although also sometimes a bit odd.
My previous review on this was removed. The reason, I felt this book celebrates life. That is, it is a pro-life stance and celebration of life. I do wonder how some could look at these tiny faces and decide that being able to end thier lives at a whim is a morally acceptable practice.
The songs are typical Celine - good melodies and harmonies but as always a bit sappy too. I really have no idea what the intent of this project is, although I will say it is well done.
Book Review: A Waking Fever Dream Summary: 5 Stars
Much as Samuel Taylor Coleridge's legendary "Kubla Khan" managed to somehow capture transcendant extrasenory experiences with the written word, this groundbreaking combination of photos of infants dressed up as foodstuffs and earshattering vocal crescendos left me grasping for a fleeting glimpse of an artistic ideal. If you have, like me, been searching for the intersection of cutting-edge Franco-Canadian symphonic arrangement and adorable baby pictures, than you, like Coleridge, have found your artistic pleasure dome -- all without the damaging side effects of opium consumption that so plagued the Romantic poets of that earlier generation of transcendent -- and now, demonstrably lesser -- artists.
Book Review: Miracle-A Celebration of New Life by Anne Geddes Summary: 5 Stars
This book contains a plethora of baby pictures in classic poses.
Buy the work if you are having children and would like samples
of how to take pictures which depict priceless snapshots for the
family album. The pictures are in full color. There are shots
where the mother speaks to her child about learning, innocence
and basic protection. The book is well organized and the
presentation is easy to understand and replicate. The volume
will help you to appreciate your own new born child.
This acquisition would make a great gift for newly married couples. It is aesthetically very attractive and the price is reasonable.
Book Review: Great for new mothers Summary: 5 Stars
I received this book as a gift about 1 month after the birth of my first child. I loved it! I was so amazed with babies and how perfect they are when they are born. This book uses newborn babies in the most beautiful photos. You can look at the photos and appreciate what a miracle little babies are, especially if you have just given birth to one. The music CD has many songs that I sing to my baby when he is going to sleep. Many of the songs are remakes of classics, some are her originals. Again, as a new mom, I appreciate the words of these songs and they capture how much love I feel for my new little peanut!
