Book Reviews of Michael Jackson Conspiracy

Book Review: Brave book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fascinating read, not just because of its subject matter but because the author herself was, like most other members of the media, predisposed to think that Jackson was guilty of at least some of the charges brought against him. She admits to being prejudiced and reveals just how she came to realise that this time the media got it very wrong indeed.
Ms Jones has thoroughly researched the book examining witnesses' testimonies, court transcripts, etc, and she reveals how the jury, onlookers and Jackson himself reacted throughout. Yes, you do feel that you are in the courtroom.
The disparity between what actually went on in there and what the media reported is astonishing. And there's some interesting information about British journalist/interviewer Martin Bashir too.
The background information about Neverland itself was all new to me. For example, it is only through reading this book that I realised that Michael Jackson's bedroom was not at all like the type of bedroom most of us have, i.e, just one room. Jackson's was a huge two storey, mezzanine construction - more like a flat than a room. I'm not saying Jackson was wise to have boys staying in his room (nor in his bed) but once you realise just how big this space was it kind puts a different perspective on these sleepovers.
Aphrodite Jones also reveals that Jackson himself was not at Neverland for much of the time; it was his home but it was more a social experiment, an escape for children who were sick or poor. It's such a shame it didn't work out. If he had lived elsewhere but just run the place as a separate entity/charity things might have turned out differently. Or if only he'd only have stuck to surrounding himself with animals rather than other peoples' children he'd be viewed by the majority as eccentric rather than potentially dangerous or evil.
I found the photographs of Neverland are startling. Everywhere is so cluttered - like a teenage boy's room. In fact, Jackson comes across as naive, vulnerable, lonely, somewhat deluded and while extraordianrily generous, lacking in emotional intelligence and 'street' savvy when it came to handling people who had their own agendas.
My only criticisms of the book are that Ms Jones' text concentrates on peoples' appearances a little too much; I felt she almost implied that when it xcame to witnesses beauty equals truth. I'd have welcomed more indepth analysis by Aphrodite Jones on the whole affair and its aftermath.
But a brave book. Buy it!

Book Review: fascinating read
Summary: 5 Stars

Ms. Jones, who according to her own testimony was as much convinced of Kackson's guilt before and during the trial as the major part of the media, changed her mind while listening to the witnesses, especially the accusers, to Jackson's very cool and unemotional lawywer and by observing Michael Jackson himself very closely in the those months between Feb. and June 05.

When she was sure in her mind that the trial had been a totally biased and judgemental indictment of Michael Jackson, she decided to set the matter straight by writing a book about what most of us only knew from reading and hearing the opinions of the press, in other words, through subjective and mostly condemning voices.

She managed to enlist the active support of Jackson's lawyer, Mesereau, after he finally was convinced that she really would write a fair account of the proceedings, but then she found that no publisher was interested in marketing anything 'pro-Jackson' and so she published herself. Very courageous!!

The result is an immensely readable and thrilling account of the trial and a frightening look into the hypocritical abyss of a decadent media lusting for gory detail and for toppling those who have become 'too' famous, 'too' popular.

It is sometimes a little annoying that Jones praises Jackson again and again with the same phrases, but that really is negligible and quite understandable considering her previous attitude.

When the book was published and she introduced it at some bookshops she made some very pertinent observations about the American press which are quite chilling and make me glad that I also read and watch international press to get balanced information.

As far as Michael jackson is concerned and all that has been said, written and shown about him, before and after his death, it made me deeply sad to think how he was hounded and slain on the altar of 'public opinion', how little his charity efforts were valued or even mentioned (he gave the complete proceeds of his History Tour to charities!) and how his musical genius always took a back seat to the public spectacle of his so called excentricities.
He wrote and performed extremely beautiful music and said really deep and revealing things about the process of creativity - that is the man that ought to be honoured and remembered, not the freak the press made him out to be.

Rest In Peace, Michael!

Book Review: Straight forward objective view of MJ's trial - a must read!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, I loved Michael Jackson since I was 3 yrs old! I love his music, videos, personality, hair, EYES, face, height and everything about him! I am 25 yrs old now and was able to appreciate all of his songs even though I was only about to be born when his album Thriller is to be realeased! He is such a genius that no matter what generation you belong, you will be able to understand and love his music.

First allegation was in 1993 by Jordan Chandler - I completely believed that this boy is manipulated by his own dad with the help of a powerful anesthesia!

Second allegation was 2002 by Gavin Arvizo - I completely view this arvizo family as trying so hard to hold on to Michael Jackson and when he's ready to stay away from them they got mad and decided to try to cash in by collaborating lies!

So, I never believed any allegations of sexual abuse against Michael Jackson, and this book Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones just proved my position on these issues.

It was completely laid out in this book the case that Sneddon built "was based on a sand". These ignorant people (Sneddon and his whole staff including the U.S. media and Bashir from UK) built a case based on their own imaginations, spent all the citizen's tax money on a case with no basis and at the end their ONLY ultimate goal is to RUIN Michael Jackson's reputation! Well, guess what? Michael is proven INNOCENT!

Anybody who wants to know the facts should buy and read this book even if you don't believed any of the allegations, like me. Mainly, I just wanted to read what hocus focus did the Santa Barbara DA's did on the trial when he presented his puzzled imaginative so called evidences. This trial, contributed heavily to Michael Jackson's depression and health issues especially insomnia. If not because of these people who are ready to conspire to get a little piece of Michael's fame and money, then Michael should still be performing at O2 Arena right now and getting ready to release another album in the next year.

I am still in disbelief that Michael Jackson is not here with us anymore. Somehow I need to get this over with. Since the day of his death, I am still thinking about him and the chances of how he could have been saved by the doctors. The point is, he didn't have to die so early!!!! All we could do now, is pray for his soul and may he rest in eternal peace.

Book Review: To be sure...
Summary: 5 Stars

When I became a fan of Michael, I wanted to be absolutely certain that these allegations weren't true. I didn't want to take his word for it or go with my gut feeling that he was innocent (as much as I wanted to) because...what if?

Yes, those two fatal little words can cause a lot of damage in the world sometimes, and it is certainly so in Michael's case--most unfortunately. The man was torn to shreds based on innuendo. STILL, people do inexplicable things sometimes, seemingly totally out of character--WHAT IF Michael was one of these? What if just a small piece of it was true?

I HAD to find out--for myself, and once and for all. I had to look at it from every possible angle--I spent weeks sifting through transcripts, evidence, opinions, witness accounts, etc. Why? Because I CARED enough for Michael to find out the absolute truth. I refused to be a bias (and shallow) fan carelessly in his favor--instead I am an informed, decided, and solidly admiring fan of his because, now I know for SURE.

Getting specifically to Ms. Jones book, it was like a recap of everything I researched as well as a whole lot more--it puts it all together in a very honest straightforward way. It puts you there in the courtroom, and describes the scene there (Michael's reactions, the jury's reactions, etc) as well as bare facts and transcripted testimony. This makes for an extremely interesting and poignant read--for any fan or non-fan seeking a true account of what happened and what to believe.

I personally find it very telling (as far as determining the innermost root of truth in the matter AKA what kind of man is Michael?) that Ms. Jones started out against Michael, but changed her mind after looking at the case herself, and watching Michael the man walk in and out of court each day. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style, and found it personable and fresh--as I said, it puts you there sitting in the gallery, watching the two parties interact, and goes behind the scenes too. Seeing people through Ms. Jones's eyes gave life and face to the facts.

I appreciated it, and found it very touching and saddening to be part of the entire horrific unfolding drama that occurred just a few years ago in Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson's life. Gauranga and Godbless to him, his reporter Ms. Aphrodite Jones and to all!

Book Review: LOVE IT! COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
Summary: 5 Stars

GREAT GREAT BOOK!! Glad to finally hear a journalist honest enough to write something truthful about Michael Jackson and not try to purposely paint him with a tainted brush. What I appreciate most about this book is that it was written by someone who had initially been part of the media lynch mob during the trail mayhem but came to see the light after stopping to seriously look at the evidence. Any clear thinking individual could see the collective effort by the media to smear Michael's name then and even now in death. The book really shines the light on the biased reporting from the media in regard to Michael but in my eyes, this tactic is used everyday on any and every new topic. They are presenting you their "opinion" as shaped by their bosses, ultimately it comes down to someones decision as to what is reported and how it is reported so as to shape public opinion. A reporter's choice of words or buzz words, (bizarre, unusual, weird, etc) will shape the public opinion one way or the other for better or for worse. In this case it was intentionaly for the worse.

Sadly Michael's tale ended so tragically. During the time of the trial, I was afraid Michael wouldn't make it emotionally through it and though he was aquitted he was still broken. He was never the same. The damage was done. People could never look at him the same anymore and that's what killed him. The pills just helped to kill the pain, the emotional pain. Anyway, this book really guides us through the court room happenings and artfully compares how those events were presented by the media. How the media chose to focus on the spectacle thus creating the very spectacle they were creating.

Tabloid reporters like Diane Dimond (ET),Nancy Grace, and counteless others fanned the flames with the most vile ideas and rumours against Michael. Leading the witch hunt of celebrities who started bashing MJ publicly on the red carpet. I've hated Martin Bashir ever since seeing his documentary and I hate him even more after reading this book. A true snake in the grass. I refuse to watch Nightline with him as host. I will write and protest abcnews until they remove that Bashir. He set Michael up for the vultures. I will never watch ABCNEWS as long as he is there, please join me in protest for Michael's sake.

GREAT GREAT BOOK!!
