Book Reviews of Message in a Bottle

Book Review: Message in a Bottle
Summary: 5 Stars

Like most of Sparks love novels, this novel is unique within its own story.

Theresa Osborne is taking vacation in Cape Cod when she comes across a bottle, that has paper in it. She opens it to find out that a man named Garrett has written a letter to his wife revealing his love for her. Theresa is intrigued by this letter and wants to find out more about Garrett. She is divorced and lonely. So, she embarks on a journey to see if others have found similar messages and actually finds other messages. She falls in love with Garrett and decides to go and find him. A relationship does evolve, but there are problems that arise because they are two totally different people. This story is a great read and will bring tears to your eyes.

Book Review: A wonderful Sparks book
Summary: 5 Stars

Having found Nicholas Sparks when he first appeared with the Notebook I am emberassed to admit that I never read this book because I saw the movie first. However, I have redeemed myself and finally many years later picked up Message in a Bottle to read. While the storyline is the same as the movie the book paints an entirely different picture. Even though I knew what would eventually happen I found myself so engrosed in the story and wishing that somehow the book would be different. I haven't read any of Sparks' books and not liked them. This book is just as moving and touhcing as his others and if you have missed this one for some reason you should go back and find it again. You'll be wishing for your own Message in a Bottle

Book Review: What a great book!
Summary: 5 Stars

Upon beginning this novel, I never imagined that it would touch me so. Even though it seemed a little slow in the beginning...the story quickly reels you in...and keeps you guessing until the very end. I have not had such an emotional feeling about a book in a long time! I can relate a lot to what is being said within those pages...and I think that many other readers can too. Good going, Mr. Sparks! :) I have not seen the movie yet...but I still can't imagine Kevin Costner in the role of Garrett...he just doesn't fit the part. I am thinking of skipping the movie for that very purpose. I don't want to be too disappointed! However, I HIGHLY recommend the book to anyone in need of a "GOOD" love/life story!

Book Review: Fuss about nothing
Summary: 5 Stars

Friends of mine loved this. I thought the premise was kind of cute, though far-fetched, but the book went on and on, badly written (which was fortunate, because I found I could skip wide swaths of the really mediocre dialog and not miss a thing, managing to blow through it in only a couple hours). I can't figure out how the two main characters fell so in love based on the really banal conversations they had from start to finish (a case of serious physical chemistry, I guess). I felt like I was reading the sort of awful dialog that I might have written myself had I made the mistake of trying to write a book. Overall, not worth the time. Maybe the movie will be better, but I don't think I'll feel a big need to see it.

Book Review: It was just - SIGH! =)
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was without a doubt one of Nicholas Sparks' best books. It is a book about a deep love, one that seemes so out of reach while being completely possible at the same time. Garrett is my favorite character out of all of Sparks' books because he has such real feelings about his wife and you can just feel how hard it has been for him to move on. It is an amazing book that you just have to read. One note: the movie version of this starring Kevin Costner and Robin Wright-Penn was not very good. When you finish reading the book, however, you have to watch the movie for the simple fact that Kevin Costner IS Garrett. He plays the most perfect version of Garrett that it is actually worth the $4.00 rental fee.
