Book Review: What an inspiration!

After reading this book and The Notebook I was more than inspired to follow my heart. The Notebook was a story I could not put down and I anxiously waited for the Message in the Bottle to be pulished. These stories made me laugh, cry and see that true love could exist, if you take the time to "open your eyes". During the time when I read these two books, I was in the middle of making a huge decision. I had been reunited with my high school sweetheart. Separated by states, years, and other relationships our friendship survived. In October 1998 Dan asked me to move to Pennsylvania to give our "friendship" an opportunity to become more. This was a difficult decision to make since I had lived in Florida for the past 11 years, had a great career, family and friends. However, after reading the two novels, I decided to take the chance. I moved to PA in Novemeber 1998. What a wonderful decision I made. A few months after the move the movie based on Nicholas' book was released. As any good boyfried would do Dan took me to see it. He had no idea what the book was about or why it made such an impact on my decision to move. Athough, the movie was slightly different from the book he got the picture. Our friendship was evloving into something more and on April 14, 1999, I was given my own message in a bottle and a long stem red rose. As I read the message, he asked me to marry him. Thank you Nicholas for the inspiration that I needed in making my decision to move. The love that Noah and Garret had for the women they loved is not just a story to be told on paper. It actually exists if you have the courage to open you eyes and your heart and take a chance. I am now reading A Walk to Remember and I am sure it will touch my heart and soul as much as the other books did.Book Review: My Review 4 Message in a Bottle

Message in a Bottle is the only book that I've read in my life that had touched me at such an emotional level to become all teary-eyed after I finished reading the book. Nicholas Sparks is an excellent writer, and like most of his books, he uses words so well instantly catching his reader's attention in the introductory paragraph. Sparks know how to touch hearts and intrigue his readers to his books, to an extent of not wanting to put the book(s) back down. Message in a Bottle is a remarkable story of Theresa, a lonely single mother, who is trying to overcome a painful divorce and Garret, a devastated man whose wife died in a car accident a few years ago and is reluctantly trying to get over the fact that she's gone. To relieve him of his pain, Garret would write romantic letters to his deceased wife, Catherine, and put the message in a bottle then throw it out to sea in hope of her reaching them somehow. One summer holiday, as Theresa was jogging along the bay, she comes across one of Garret's bottles with the scrolled up message inside. She opens the cork and unfolds the letter. From here, starts Theresa's quest of finding the mysterious Garret who wrote these hearts tugging love letters. And eventually when she does, the two heart-broken love birds come together and fall romantically in love overcoming most obstacles along the way.The book Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks was so much better then the movie. Even though the movie was based on the book, it lacked so much of the content that the book had. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like to read love stories. And trust me, this one unlike many others love stories is not sappy. =]
Book Review: The Bottle of Love

Theresa Osborn is a city girl whose divorce leaves her as a hard working single mom. Garrett Blake is a widower who loves his peaceful life by the ocean. These two people don't realize how alike they really are until Theresa finds a message in a bottle along the shore. After reading the beautifully written letter to a women named Catherine from Garrett Blake, Theresa grows more curious about what Garrett is like. After going down to meet him and getting to know each other, their relationship starts to grow. Soon they realize that if they want to keep their love they must first make some sacrifices. Did the message lead to true love and destiny or just a mistake?
Some things I liked in this book were the characters, the way the book was good throughout the whole book, and the ending. I liked the characters because of their attitude and personality and how they seemed so different, but yet so perfect for each other. I liked the ending because it really added some emotion to the book. I also liked how just when you think you know what's going to happen, an unexpected twist throws you off. One thing I didn't like about the book was how some things were kept secret between Theresa and Garrett.
I would recommend this book to any girl, teenage through adult, who is looking for a good love story. You might like this book if you liked The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, or the Titanic. i think that if you read this book you will really like it!
Book Review: MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE HOLDS A MESSAGE FOR ALL OF US!

I am a sucker for romantic love stories and always have tissues near me when I read a book or go to the movies. It is so nice to find a "soft" mystery with a peaceful ending to balance all the things we juggle daily. MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE brings back all those wonderful childhood memories of walking along the beach hoping to find the perfect sea shell, or a message in a bottle thrown overboard by some sailor many years ago. This story is a little different. Theresa actually uses modern electronics to speed up her search, but then gets bogged down by all the human "stalls" that get in our way. She procrastinates in making her decision to find Garrett. She does not believe that she can find him or that true love is possible. She thinks of herself as "the ugly duckling" compared to Catherine. She suffers from misconceptions about what each of them want. But eventually, she is able to overcome these "stalls" to find herself as well as the real Garrett. In many ways, reading MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE is a message to all of us to get rid of our old baggage and go after what we want. For fun, escape and a good love story, I recommend you read MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE. To fulfill your dreams, I also recommend you read THE 2,000 PERCENT SOLUTION to identify the "stalls" that hold you back from getting what you want in personal or business life, and follow the steps to success, achievement and greater happiness.Book Review: Heartwarming!

Having heard a lot of praise for Nicholas Sparks, I bought this book to see how it would be. After reading this book entirely, I was awestruck as to what a touching story that I had read.
The story starts off with Theresa, a single mother, who while jogging, finds a bottle washed up from the sea. Upon opening it, she finds a romantic, yet sorrowful letter from someone named Garrett to a person named Catherine. After a few days, she discovers there were other messages similar to hers, found by others. Unable to think of anything else except the mystery man of the letters, Theresa's close friend and colleague Deanna convinces her to find this Garrett person and meet him, to see what he is like. After tracking down Garrett's address, Theresa takes a trip, not realizing that it could change her life forever.
Nicholas Sparks tells us a compassionate story of a person looking for love, meeting a person who never thought he would find love again. His way of storytelling keeps the reader engrossed throughout in the book. The relationship between Theresa and Garrett is natural, and you really feel for the characters, especially towards the end of the book.
This was a wonderful read, and I cant wait to read more of Sparks's work.
