Book Reviews of Merant The Muddled AntBook Review: Merant the Muddled Ant a lesson in putting your toys up Summary: 5 Stars
This ant charges through the ant house scattering toys and stuff everywhere. What a mess! All the other children ants clean up after themselves and put everything in its proper place. Not Merant. He has a lesson to learn as all kids do. Like her other books, this one is really cute. He eventually learns what he should do and tears around the ant house putting away all the mess.
This author is very talented and so is her illustrator. I highly recommend this book.

Summary of Merant The Muddled AntMerant, a little ant, loves to play with his toys all day long! Merant lives with hundreds and hundreds of ants in his ant nest. Within the nest are rooms filled with racks and racks of toys. Planes, puzzles, balls-big and small-it's all there! One day after an especially fun day of playing with his toys, Merant decides to leave his toys strewn about. Why pick them up? After all he'll be back to play-the very next day! But there are other little ants in the nest that like to play. What if one of the little ants wants to play with a puzzle? What if a ball is missing from its unusual spot on the rack-how will the other little ants find it? If Merant doesn't put away his toys, then the other little ants won't be able to play when they want to. Merant will learn a big lesson from the older ants about teamwork, sharing, and the importance of responsibility. Hanli Bothma's sweet story is filled with colorful and delightful characters that children will relate to. Interweaving lyrical, soft poetry with a positive message, MERANT, The Muddled Ant is sure to become a bedtime favorite. Hanli Bothma is a children's author, software programmer and data analyst. Ms. Bothma has written three books and is currently finishing her fourth. She lives with her daughters, Liché and Niki, in South Australia.
