Book Review: Good but not what I expected.
Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this book as a visual reference of the time period for an art project. The photographs are interesting and can have as much information as: the names and ranks of the men photographed, the photographer's name, the date taken, and a description of the happenings. However, these descriptions tend to be brief and don't contain enough information to be considered captions in most cases. Then at times the book seems to be less about actual down time and more about bathing habits and if you're looking for an assortment of different bathing apparatus you're in the right place. That being said I appreciate this collection of photography but in most cases you would be better off buying a book dedicated to a specific war and most of this would be covered in a stronger way.
