Book Review: Excellent primer on Irish fiddling.
Summary: 5 Stars
This book takes a fiddle player who can read music through the various ornaments and techniques common to Irish music. The author explains the techniques in a clear and understandable way, then uses various tunes to illustrate the point. The many types of Irish tunes are described very well in a way that makes this a great reference for someone interested in Irish traditional music.
One caution: The book may or may not have the associated CD with it. Read the description carefully. The CD has all the songs of the book on it, and done at various speeds. Good reference as well. A more advanced student already familiar with Irish music may not find the CD necessary.
