Book Review: Just what I needed

I disagree with the first reviewer. Yes, the notes are simplistic, but the book focuses on bowing technique. Bowing is almost everything when it comes to style, and every musician understands how simple music can become beautiful and sophisticated if you learn to play with style. You won't achieve the Gypsy Jazz sound without proper bowing. These techniques must be practiced until muscle memory is developed, so a person who picks up the book and merely plays the notes through without giving further thought will not benefit from this book. This book is well suited for classical players who want to venture into another genre. I would suggest that classical players make it a point to listen to gypsy jazz to understand slide speed and other such techniques.
