Book Reviews of Me on the Map (Dragonfly Books)Book Review: Simple text inspires days of fun, family activities Summary: 5 Stars
My four year son and I love this book. I used this book and the mapping activities it inspires to teach my son our address. We basically recreated this book with all of its maps to establish my child's very special place on the map (his bedroom, our home, our street, our town, our state, etc.)If you like this book, try also: Me and My Family Tree.
Book Review: Engaging and Effective! Summary: 5 Stars
My four year old LOVES this book. Even better, because she reads at the 2nd grade level, she read the whole thing herself; she was able to read and teach herself about maps. We mapped her room, our neighborhood, our walking route to the park. She is so excited about maps.
We are looking forward to reading "My Place in Space".
Book Review: Me on the Map Summary: 5 Stars
My six year old daughter loved this book. The words were easy enough for her to read and the repetition reinforced her early reading skills. We used this book as an introduction to perspective, maps, and self-awareness. The pictures were fresh, clean, and uncluttered. We plan on getting the rest of the series.
Book Review: Excellent Geography Book for Preschoolers Summary: 5 Stars
My 3 year old was learning about her home address, neighborhood, city and state in pre-school and i was looking for an age appropriate book to supplement the teachers lessons. This book is excellent. It uses simple sentences and helps illustrate basic pre-school geography. The teacher even asked to borrow it.
Book Review: Fabulous book! Summary: 5 Stars
What a great book. Great pictures. After reading it we sat down and made a map of my 4 year old's room. If only it explained the difference between living out in the country (like on a farm) and living in a different country (like China or Australia). But I can't complain. We love it!
