Book Reviews of Marvel Zombies vs. Army of DarknessBook Review: A new thrill and chill for comic book fans... Summary: 5 Stars
A very enjoyable diversion into the (undead) Marvel Universe, Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness serves as a wild ride for the readers. Taking the characters we know and love, Layman, Neves, and Chung delivers them on a blood-soaked platter where the courage and strength of the heroes (and villains) fall to their undying hunger for living flesh.
How can B-Movie hero Ash stand against the hordes of super-powered undead? What (if any) potential allies remain on the dead planet? Read on only if you dare!!!
For a fun trip chock full of zombie gore and mayhem, this GN is a must have for fans.

Book Review: "Hmmm. Like The Chainsaw..." Summary: 4 Stars
After falling through yet another portal in the space-time continuum, Ashley J. Williams, the pugnacious hero of Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" Films, finds himself lying in a dumpster in a parallel NYC where Marvel's Superhero community fights crime on the streets. Receiving forewarning about an impending "deadite" manifestation by a possessed bag-lady, Ash sets out with his trusty chainsaw and double-barreled boomstick to head the deadites off at the pass and show the costumed heroes just how you go about "carving a witch". However, unbeknownst to S-Mart's favourite son, NYC is about to succumb to a far deadlier onslaught of the undead...
Acting concurrently with Marvel Zombies: Dead Days TPB, "Marvel Zombies Vs Army Of Darkness" acts as an expanded prequel to the events of both Ultimate Fantastic Four Vol. 5: Crossover (v. 5) (in which M.Z. first appeared) and Marvel Zombies TPB Spider-Man Cover. Its a highly enjoyable romp which manages to infuse humour, horror and a cracking comic book rendition of Bruce Campbell's "Ash" (He really does come across as as much of horses-ass as I remember from the "Evil Dead" movies and his hard-boiled exchanges with the caped crusaders and villains are highly amusing). A speculative fate-worse-than-death of a talking copy of the "Necronomicon Ex Mortis" at the hands of a zombified Hulk is also highly amusing, as is a brief (but violent) cameo from "Howard The Duck". Indeed, my only gripe with the series overall is that I'd liked to have seen more interplay with "The Punisher" (but being a big "Punisher" fan, I would say that, wouldn't I?).
That said, I imagine that fans of "The Evil Dead", "Marvel Comics" and Zombie films in general will get a chuckle out of this undemanding but highly enjoyable ride through the dead side. I know I did.
