Book Reviews of Manga Studio For DummiesBook Review: Great book! Summary: 5 Stars
In my case, this book preceded the software..usually its the other way around. I was scanning the computer/graphics section of a bookstore when I reviewed "Manga Studio for Dummies" and read that MS had the ability to rotate the image (a must-have feature for a drawing app, in my opinion)--this became a primary selling point of the software. After reading the book further, I realized that the guidance provided by this extremely clear, step-by-step book was going to be integral for getting me up to speed on MS. It's written in a very interesting way (with personal experiences related--unlike a dry manual). About 2 1/2 years have passed since my bookstore visit and I'm now more impressed by both the software and the book (which I still refer to). The latter definitely helped me get "up to speed" and able to use it for my professional work as a storyboard artist for the advertising industry. My highest recommendation.
Book Review: What more could you need? Summary: 5 Stars
MS4D is without a doubt, the best source for guidance and information concerning Manga Studio. Doug does an excellent job to explaining manga studio's many functions and words it in such a way that you won't feel overwhelmed. This book as seriously increased my competence with the program, and I still go to it for help and reference when I get stuck. The best thing about this book is that even though the book was made for MS3, almost all the information inside works for MS 4 as well! If you have Manga Studio or are thinking of picking up a copy, be sure to get a copy of this book as well. You won't regret it.
Book Review: Project Had to Go Into Print First Summary: 5 Stars
What the Boss wants the Boss gets. "Animation project has to go into print first," He says. Already had Moho/Anime Studio so went to Manga Studio EX. Debut wasn't going to handle it. Need to learn the software fast? This is the book. Not a lot of hokey gags throughout the book. Instead lots of good useful information about the software. How to try different ways for tasks so that you find the way the best works for you. So you can keep on drawing your Manag or ANY style with Manga Studio.
Book Review: Good getting Started Book Summary: 5 Stars
Not all features (I am EX user) are explained in depth, and some of them are only noticed. But this book is for beginners. Complete deep reference would be 1500 pages, not 400.
So I just hope someday Doug will write "Manga Studio for Advanced Dummies" and would fill those gaps. I will buy it.
Book Review: A great tool for Manga Studio beginners Summary: 5 Stars
Like most XXXXX for Dummies books, Manga Studio for Dummies is a great tool for any beginner to Manga Studio. The book's easy to follow instructions on the various subjects and easy to understand terminology made using Manga Studio a breeze.
