Book Review: Great for beginners!

I purchased this as a gift for a friend who has just begun to take an interest in detailed makeup. I saw that the book had gotten good reviews and many have purchased it.
I looked through it before gifting it to her, and it appears to be a book aimed at those who have a basic understanding of makeup. If you are just starting to take an interest in high-end makeup and would like to get comfortable using quality makeup, this is a good book.
For more outlandish, exotic types of makeup application, I would pair this book with one geared more towards intense eyeshadow instruction.
Some great tips are in the book, though. I am fairly experienced and I learned some new tips!
Book Review: A charming surprise

I recently picked up a charming, wonderfully well written makeup book called Making Faces. The book is extremely well laid out with both the looks and exactly how this artist created them.
The instructions are simple and easy to understand.
Most of all I like his philosophy on beauty. He believes that there is no one set of beauty rules, just as there is no "right"way to look or apply makeup. He believes in experimenting and finding your own beauty. His guidelines are simply a starting point while you discover a look that fits you.
I highly recommend that you read this and pass it on to anyone you know who needs to feel beautiful, confident and sexy.
Book Review: The Art of Make-up

I bought this book since make-up has always been fascinating for me and wanted to learn some more before taking a professional course. I was complete surprised about the possibilities that make up can do with your face. I never thought that the correct application of colors and lighting could change in such a way a person. The way Mr. Aucoin makes it it's really incredible... you don't even need a plastic surgery to be as beautiful as many of the stars we see in the movies. It is really an art. And the instructions of how to do it are very practical to do at home.I would recommend it for any person who has interest in learning how to improve her appeareance and for make-up learning.
Book Review: The best of the best

I live in Brazil and I've brought a copy from the USA,after coming across it in a jewelery store. I really love looking at it again and again from time to time! I've tried many looks in the book and they really work!The book contains lots of completely different 'wearable' and up-to-date ideas with step-by-step instructions that are hard to miss!Make-up's not basic but anyone can follow, and look great!
These days, after researching for long here at Amazon.com I imported 'Makeup Makeovers', but it has nothing to do! I think there is no other one as good as this one is, not even the other one from Kevin as far as I've read!Everybody should have one, I really advocate for that!
Book Review: Awesome book!

I've had this book for a couple years and I have to say, it's the one of the best makeup books I have. There are so many pictures and tricks that I haven't gotten through all his tips yet. I'm Chinese, so it's been difficult to find makeup ideas, but the ideas in this book are good for anybody! The section on different looks are incredible - I can have a look for any occasion. The only down side is that he doesn't list which companies make good products for his looks, but if you know makeup, or just copy down the description and bring it to a makeup counter, you'll find something that works! Anybody who wants to play with makeup or try a different look should get this book!
