Book Review: LOVE this book

This book was just too funny. My friend and I had a great time reading snipets back and forth at work and laughing to ourselves. It is refreshing to read a book that embraces all aspects of humanity, even those that many of us are uncomfortable acknowledging. We especially enjoyed the Vanderbilt story and the ones toward the end about Dennis and Bentley. We look forward to reading more by him.Book Review: Hillarious and REAL.

I've read Running with Scissors as well as Dry. He just shows that basically he had a crappy start to life and if he can get over it..... ANYONE can get over it. Get over it and on with life. I love his bravery in living out loud and not trying to hide anything. Things happen and you can either let it go and get on with it or not. Those are the choices. I really liked this book, especially after having read Running with Scissors and seeing the movie after. This story continues with Augusten's life as an adult...crazy, quirky, but amazingly sane despite his childhood. His writing sytle and story line reminded me alot of Armistead Maupin books of the 80's, but so long ago I can't remember the titles.Book Review: Burroughs is amazing

This was the third Augusten Burroughs book I've read, after Scissors and Dry. Again, I was sucked into the book, I believe I finished it in a day, and I appreciate his dark humour.
This is a book of short stories, some are an extention of things he's written about in previous books and some are entirely new. I loved it.

By far the quickest read I've had in awhile. I got the package from Amazon at 1:30 PM and I had finished the book by 8:30 PM. The book had me in stitches. However, it is not for the faint of heart. If you are offended easily you might want to pass.
