Book Review: Great kids books on CD

My kids (4 and 6) love The Magic Treehouse books. These CDs were a treat so they could continue to "read" after the lights are out. The only drawback: my 4-year-old son gets so involved in the stories that he has had hard time falling asleep. I worried the kids wouldn't want to listen once they'd read the books one time -- not a concern ... we listen over and over and over.Book Review: Great for car rides!

We got a Magic Tree House audiobook in a Wendy's Kid meal and the kids love listening to it in the car. But I didn't want to hear the same story over and over so I found these and purchased them along with books 9-16. The kids are quiet as mice when these stories are on. They are learning new vocabulary and interesting facts about history. I think this series is great!Book Review: 8 hours in the car...no problem!

I purchased this set as part of my travel kit for entertaining my 2 & 4 yr old during a cross country move. I was amazed by their ability to keep my kids attention and I enjoyed the distraction as well. We've listened to them several times since. Including a 8-hr drive with just me and the kids and no DVD player. The CDs made the road trip no problem.Book Review: A Must-Have at Bedtime

My four children (ages 4 through 9) really enjoy these Books on CD. When my daughter was still 3, she loved them. I, personally, wouldn't rate these books on CD at a 5 star because I don't care for the author's reading of them. I think someone else could do a better job of it. My 2nd grader does not like to read. I bought these cds to encourage the reading process. Just starting in chapter books this year has been a huge change from simple picture books. Reading the books along with the cds has helped the books seem more interesting and easier to get to the end without getting discouraged or distracted.
