Book Review: Great Camera, Great Little Book

I've been locked into the Pentax SLR system for going on 40 years. Some Pentaxes were good, some not so good. The Pentax ist*D was the worst so it was with trepidation that I upgraded to the K20D. After hard use for almost a year, I cans say: 1. the K20D is a superb camera and that 2. I am delighted with mine. True, the manual is complete and quite adequate, however it volunteers nothing. I purchased Peter Burian's book on a whim. Despite the quibbles of some of the reviewers, I found it to be an excellent companion to the camera. It is well written and a pleasure to read. It provides a brief review of photography written with the K20D's capabilities in mind. The book tells you what the camera can do, and how--and when--to make full use of all of its many features. I don't know why camera manufacture can't write a decent book for their own product but that is the way it has always been and probably the way it will always be. Fortunately the Magic Lantern Guides are there for our rescue at a very reasonable price. The guide is well laid out, it's easy to find information on most questions I have about the camera. Only drawback is it's all black and white, no color. But the price is right and if they added color it would probably cost twice as much and at the end of the day, the color picture wouldn't add to the quality of the guide.Book Review: Better than the Instruction book

This is a very well done, fleshed out version of what is in the instruction book, plus a lot more in the way of shortcuts, pointers, etc. I seem to remember paying about $20 for the book. I see it is now priced at $50. Not much in the context of buying an expensive camera, but it still strikes me as exorbitant, particularly because great chunks of the book are generic, i.e. they appear in all the guides and are not Pentax-specific.Book Review: LOKING OVER THE PENTAX K20D

This book is very thorough, it is what a Photographer needs to know
when purchaseing a Dslr.There are some things you will not
use.On the whole I would reccomend this book befor before useing
this Camera.

Book Review: Operating manual supplement

So far, I've read only a little, but it seems to cover a little more than the essentials listed in the Pentax book that comes with the camera. This book also fits nicely in the camera bag in the top compartment that is too small for the Pentax book.
