I read both the Nikon user's manual and this book cover to cover. This book is easier to understand and the hints and notes are invaluable. The only minor annoyance was the large number of typos in the book. The editors at Sterling were below par.Book Review: D200 User Guide

Despite its grayness cover and photos, this book is clear, straight forward
and very comprehensive manual. This book is the manual that should have been
included in the kit instead what's included today.

The cover people were commenting on was a dummy cover which was made before a real picture was available. As you can see, the new cover is fine. This is an excellent guide to an excellent camera.
