Book Review: An excellent edition of a classic children's book
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful edition of a book with which you are probably already familiar. If you're not familiar with this book, I highly recommend it for reading to your children. The pictures are large and vivid; children enjoy the humorous tone used by the author, Ludwig Bemelmans, to describe the heroine of this series of books, Madeline.
One nice feature that comes with this edition is that inside the back cover the author includes a description of the buildings and monuments in France that are portrayed in the book's illustrations. After you're done reading the story to your child, it's nice to go back through the illustrations and have the child find which illustrations portray which buildings/monuments.
If you don't have it already, I highly recommend this book and particularly this edition because of the beautiful way in which the artwork is presented.
