Book Reviews of Mac OS X Leopard: The Missing ManualBook Review: A Mac user must Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased my first computer only 1 year ago and decided on a Mac. My family members all have PC's so I was on my own to learn the ins and outs of my machine. This book has made navigating my Mac a dream. I read it like a novel in the evening, and have found it helpful to have my laptop on and nearby to try every tip and trick as I read about it. For me, this book was a must have and I am thankful to have it. I love my Mac, and I love this manual. Without this" Missing Manual" I'd be missing out!
Book Review: A must-have book for every mac owner Summary: 5 Stars
I have used Macs for 20 years and I find them very user friendly. When I purchased Leopard I felt confident that it was going to be as easy to use. And I was correct. However, there are lots of new features in Leopard; things that I did not know it could do - cool things! So I researched books until I found the one that I thought would help me become proficient at Leopard. This is THE book. I have learned so much. It is so easy to read and follow. It is has humor, too.
Book Review: A must for a Mac Newbie Summary: 5 Stars
After many years in the pc world, I switched to Mac. This book is a godsend.
There are many things that are different coming from the pc world, and David Pogue makes learning mac osx fun. I was amazed at how big this book is. You will spend a lot of time with this book. I sit at my computer and try all of the things he writes about so I can "see" what is is saying. I have highlighted many things that I want to remember.
It has been a great help. I strongly recommend it.
Book Review: A new beginning Summary: 5 Stars
I like the clarity that David Pogue brings to what could be otherwise a very complex explanation of Mac OS X Leopard. Written from someone independent of Apple it explains those operational things developers take for granted but which you the reader are not aware of.
An excellent reference book. I find myself using it all the time.It is better than using the HELP tabs because you do not have to interrupt your process while operating the computer.
Book Review: A great help to a new Mac user Summary: 5 Stars
As a long time Windows person that finally switched to a Mac in June of 2008, this book has been invaluable. No, it doesn't have every single answer in it, as the computer world changes so rapidly, but it sure has helped me out with the basics! It's probably the one most recommended on all the various Mac forums and I can see why. A great book, not just for new Mac users, but no doubt even seasoned Apple folks will find some VERY helpful stuff!
