Book Reviews of Lyra's OxfordBook Review: Really charming after "His Dark Materials" Summary: 5 Stars
After seeing "The Golden Compass," I had to read the trilogy "His Dark Materials." It was a thrilling fantasy that left me thirsting for more, but--guess what?--that is all there is right now. But there was this little jewel of a book. It really is just a short story/chapter and a charming map of Oxford, but it was what I needed to decompress and wait patiently for "The Book of Dust."
Book Review: Dark Materials Trilogy Summary: 5 Stars
If you enjoyed the Dark Materials Trilogy, you'll like this slender volume. It takes you back to Lyra's world after she returns there for good. Pullman's series is well-written and thought-provoking. He raises issues about faith and ethics that are timely, especially now.
Book Review: Short and sweet Summary: 5 Stars
Pullman is a genius in his writing, and this small tale is such a great tease after the Dark Materials work. But, the combination of the illustrations and other knick-knacks are just clever and fun. If you liked His Dark Materials, you will enjoy this as well.
Book Review: Lyra's Oxford Summary: 5 Stars
This was a very good addition to the Dark Materials series. I enjoyed it very much. The only bad thing I can think of, was it was way too short.
Book Review: Great short story Summary: 5 Stars
If you've read the trilogy you must read this. If i'd known about it I would have read it first..
