Book Review: Much easier to use than Lutheran Worship

Our congregation has been using this hymnal for a little over a year. It is a big help to have the Lutheran Service Builder software program to use in conjunction with the hymnal, especially for checking a melody for singability. In general the sound of the hymns is pleasing and the range is easy to sing, quite unlike Lutheran Worship was.
The paper is not quite as durable as one would expect, and the hymnals appear they will wear a bit too much before their time.
I was disappointed that a good hymn like "Jesus, I my cross have taken" was left out. Lutheran hymnals already have too few hymns for texts like Jesus' words on denying oneself and taking up the cross to follow Him. Some nice hymns, like "Lamb of God" by Twila Paris are included.
We have been using Divine Service I. The Offertory in it is difficult and tuneless. We substituted the first verse of #785 "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator."
I wish all Psalms had been included, not just selected Psalms.
The editors made a big point that all page and hymn numbers are consecutive. There is no need to distinquish between page 1 and hymn # 1. In our use that has not been as helpful as it was billed.
Some foreign language texts have been included as alternative texts. But, it got a little ridiculous when a Spanish text for "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" was included, but a German text was not! There are enough people who understand the German connections to the Reformation and this hymn that its text should have been included in German.
There is a rush to avoid the word "covenant" in texts related to the Lord's Supper and substitute "testament." That misses the Old Testament connections to the Lord's Supper. Even Jesus' words reference Exodus 24:8, where the word is "covenant," not "testament."
The lectionary series for this hymnal include Jesus' words on marriage, divorce, and remarriage. Those were missing during the period many of us were using Lutheran Worship.
If someone needs to find the Nicene or the Apostles' Creed quickly, just flip open the back cover.
