Jerry Spinelli is a great author. One of his books is called Loser.
Donald Zinkoff is a plain loser. He is kind of weird. He is the kid that takes everything seriously. He doesn't understand when people are being sarcastic. The book takes you through Zinkoff's elementary years.
Have you ever heard of an upside-down valve? It is in your stomach and if it's a upside down you vomit a lot. That is what Zinkoff has. Thankfully, they get it fixed.
I don't want to give away too much of this great book, so I am going to have to keep you in suspense about what happens in this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Loser is about a boy named Donald Zinkoff who is very hyper, optimistic, agreeable, and seated in the "boondocks" of his classroom. This boy also is atrocious with school work. The book takes us through his school life, starting in first grade. In each grade and chapter we see that ZInkoff is like no other kid. The older Zinkoff gets, the more independent he gets, and the more his classmates notice how different he is. Will his classmates ever notice him in a good way? Will Zinkoff's luck ever change? You'll have to read Loser to find out.
I think this book is really good, because kids can relate to Donald in some way.

The book I wrote about was Loser. The main character is Donald. Some of the main events are when Donald went looking for Claudia, also Donald wore his giraffe hat to school. On Field Day, Donald's team lost. I liked the part when Donald wore his giraffe hat to school, it really made me laugh. I didn't like how the story skipped from grade to grade. At the end, Donald went looking for Claudia in a snow storm. Read the book to find out if Donald found Claudia, or if Donald got lost himself. I really liked how the author wrote. Also, I would like to read more of Jerry Spinelli's books.Book Review: Loser is a winner!!!

This book is the best book ever! I would recomend this emotionally incredible book to anyone. It is funny, curious, cruel, nice, and awesome! You should REALLY read this. It made me know now that if you call someone a loser does NOT make them one. This is the best book ever! Same thing with every Jerry Spinelli book. He is an incredible writer. I really encourage you to read this book. You should also read every other book of his, because I know I am! You can start with any book you like, but please, do NOT go on without reading Loser. This book is about a kid named Zinkof. He is not your everyday kid. He I very funny and energetic and never gets his feelings hurt, like one part in the book is that he bought this hat to school and these kids came up to him and stole it and they started to laugh and Zinkof started to laugh. Sometimes I feel bad for him because he doesn't know what to do. If you have ever herd the saying "Be a leader not a follower" he is the follower. I really recommend this book. It is one of my all time favorites!
