I have to say, of all the hypnosis cds I have tried, Glenn Harrold's are by far the best! I don't know how it works. Quite frankly, I can't remember what the cd says. I have been an emotional eater all my life. I can tell you that without being aware, my eating habits have totally changed. I no longer snack, my Snicker-a-day life long habit no longer exists, Thanksgiving was in no way a challenge. I walk by the candy aisle at the store with indifference. I do not consume any type of soft drinks. I truly have no want for any of that stuff anymore. I never exercise. I don't like to exercise. Also, I didn't listen to the cd any two consecutive days. I listened to it a couple of times. Of course I also purchased his excercise and energy motivation cds. I will be trying one of them in the next week or so. I know it will work. All of his cds have been 100% effective for me. Btw, when I had the flu followed by the swine flu, I never got the full-blown symptoms the rest of my family did. Whenever I started to get feverish and such, I listened to his "Heal Your Body" cd and the symptoms subsided for a time, I listened to that cd about 3 times. I LOVE IT!
Book Review: This Really, Really Works Summary: 5 Stars
Before listening to this CD, my mind was a battle ground between the desire for thinness and the lust for the fantastic-tasting goodies of life. It was diet after diet and failure after failure. After just one exposure to the hypnotic suggestions on this CD, I suddenly behaved in a different way. No more dinners of frozen yogurt and toasted raisin bread with a stick of butter. I now choose to eat fresh, colorful vegetables and rice. It isn't that I am forcing myself to do this, I want to do it. The ideas on this tape are very healthy, but what I value more is that the techniques are very powerful. Years ago, I consulted a hypnotist who made me a tape of our session, and it was nowhere near as effective as the deep trance and fantastic results I can achieve using this CD. I am very enthusiastic about this way of relating to food and instead of having a love-hate relationship with food, I now appreciate my subconscious mind for the help it is giving me in reaching the goal I really, really want--freedom from both diets and weight gain.
Book Review: Second best thing I ever did for myself Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this CD over two years ago. I was afraid that I would be too hypnotized to answer the phone or hear the smoke alarm, but that is not the case. I listened to the CD while falling asleep nearly every night for several months. Glenn Harrold's voice is better than Prozac. Listening to the CD kept me destressed all day long. It effected every area of my life--not just weight loss--making my entire day, every day, much more bearable. I was much better able to follow my own nutrition guidelines. Good thing, because he doesn't give any--he's not a dietician, you'll still need one of those. When I'm feeling stressed, I pop in this CD. Yes, I did lose weight and I continue to do so. It helped me to faithfully commit to keeping up my nutrition journal, even to this day, which keeps me on track. It's two years later and I still listen to it when I need a boost. Oh, and the best thing I ever did for myself? Hire a personal trainer and a dietician.
Book Review: Surprisingly Effective Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this CD a week ago on a bit of a lark. I was skeptical, but thought I'd try it just to see... I have been falling asleep to it every night with my walkmann on, (I don't have TIME to do this except when I go to bed at night.) I have already lost 4 pounds without feeling like I am on a weight loss program of any kind. I believe that it does work, in that it instills a desire to eat smaller portions of healthy foods. Follow the instructions. Don't listen unless you are where you CAN safely fall asleep, because it does lull you to sleep! I plan to continue with it until I am down to my goal weight, and then I will switch to the "keep the weight off" track for a while. I am very pleased with this purchase and would reccommend it to anyone who is interested in taking a new and different approach to changing their eating habits. If you do try it, I am interested to see if it works for you, so I hope you post a review. GOOD LUCK!
Book Review: Very Soothing Summary: 5 Stars
Glenn Harrold has a good voice, a thick British accent (which is OK with me), and is excellent at self-hypnosis. His CD includes very positive eating and exercising affirmations. There are two sections on the CD, I like the second better than the first. The only downsides are the synthesizer trumpet music in the introduction of the first section. Once you get past that section, however, the rest of the music is very peaceful and relaxing. The only other downside is the vernacular. He says "I enjoy taking exercise." Americans would say "I enjoy exercising." A minor point, but it's a bit distracting in that section of the CD. I would recommend this CD as a dieting and motivational aid. It is also helpful for relaxing, even if you don't use it for the other reasons.
