Book Reviews of Look-Alikes Around the WorldBook Review: Creative, Entertaining Book for All Ages Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book (and the two others by the same author/artist), one set for my three-year-old grandson and one set for my 5 year old granddaughter. But I have spent time with this/these books as well. They are appropriate for all ages because the older the child is, the more they will recognize. A very creative and artistic approach to creating what appears at first glance to be a common scene, only to find out, upon further inspection, that the entire scene is made with look-alike objects: are those bushes in front of the Taj Mahal, or brussel sprouts?! My adults friends were just as captivated by this/these books as the kids were.
Book Review: Great for the car ride Summary: 5 Stars
Take a closer look at these pictures and you will see that things are not as they appear. The author/artist of this book created typically famous scenes and then recreated them with random objects. If you look closer, you will see that the towers are made of recorders and the trees are brussel sprouts! It is a fun book to take in the car because it requires time and attention to find all the objects.
Book Review: Teaching kids to 'look twice' at art for hidden wonders. Summary: 5 Stars
Artist Joan Stiner uses everyday objects in three-dimension scenes of over forty famous landmarks and familiar vacation picks from Europe to the U.S. in this fun set of facts, photos and look-alike concepts. This book appeared some time ago but deserves ongoing mention as a fabulous, lasting library pick filled with fun and teaching kids to 'look twice' at art for hidden wonders.
Book Review: Such imagination! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband asked if I order these books for the grandchildren or for
myself! Absolutely amazing!
Book Review: Look Alikes Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product for adults, but kids don't recognize many of the items.
